Ground rules
1. Please ensure your car is fit to be on the road. All fluids are filled, Tires in good condition and filled, All lights are working and also please ensure that your brakes are in good condition
2. Petrol or diesel is filled as there is no stoping for gas during the trip to Penang
3. Enough touch and go credits, avoid using the cash lanes pls
4. Know your car and your driving limits. There is no prize for being the fastest, best drifters, being daredevil or what not
5. Be safe at all times. Seat belts are mandatory. Helmet is optional
6. Do not terrorize the road and endanger other motorist and pedestrian as we will be on public roads
7. Please always uphold the club name and the brand
8. As this is largely a family drive, pls respect the safety of one another and avoid “cucuking”
9. At traffic lights, use all the lanes and ensure you follow the marshalls to clear the lights/obstacles
10. Those who have walkies, pls bring them fully charged. Tq
Caveat lector " The organizers accepts no responsibility for loss of life, limb/s and damage/s during the trip."
Breakdown procedures
As this is a long drive, we must cater for the possibility of breakdowns, flat tires, no starts etc. The following rules strictly apply: -
1. In the event of a breakdown, pls pull to the side of the road
2. The convoy continues with only the sweeper staying behind to assist. Marshall to now become Sweeper
3. Lead car will pull to the closest safe stopping zone and regroup entire convoy with assistance of Marshalls
4. Upon checking in with Sweeper if further help is needed, Lead car and convoy will proceed to destination. Sweeper will assist stranded car to safe zone/await pickup
5. Sweeper will proceed to destination once stranded car has a firm plan of action going forward
6. No one gets left behind in the convoy
Roles of lead, sweeper and marshall cars
Lead = Set pace for convoy, safely. Close contact with Sweeper and Marshalls to ensure convoy in tact
Sweeper = Eyes of the convoy and crucial when there is trouble e.g. breakdown
Marshall = Sweep back and forth convoy to ensure in tact and manage/block obstacles e.g. traffic lights to allow smooth flow of convoy
See you all bright and early and on time 12th March. Pls print out a copy of this post for your records and also RM8 for the stickers
