VAL101.... how much is the CF seat back
???
I did mine year 2010. SGD 1,800.00 per seat. Don't know how much it will cost now. Was done by Robson Design Singapore.

Dear Friends,

Since I started this thread, I promised to update from time to time on the coating quality. Now, lets talk about water marks. Everyone is worry about this including myself when I was looking for a reliable coating. Let me share the progress of this Ceramic Pro coating.

My car porch unfortunately does not stretch to cover my car's beautiful rear portion. Hence, when it rains, back screen till the boot cover will definite have to endure the rain. Also, when I travel or am away, my maid is too lazy to wipe the rain drops away (even though she has been told to). Sometimes, when I am back from my overseas work, I can see dried up water spots. Send car for normal wash, all the spots disappears effortlessly.

I am happy to say, no water marks or scarring on the coating after close to 8 months having it coated. I would also like to report the weather in Puchong is sunny with clouds as reported from the boot surface of my car! Hehehehe!

Another day, another shine!

Thanks for the update YF.
I done my car coating in Damansara Uptown Q-Txxxxxx Nov 2014.
5 months after that I had to bring the car over for re-coat as no effect leftover.
The guys were BS me saying that I m the only owner who had this issue and blaming me didn't take care the car well such as wash it at least once a week (which I did most of the time except 1-2 times I was overseas).
OK, they coated my car again in Apr 2015 (as guarantee for 2 yrs) but as today (3 mths later), the coating effect gone again.

No point arguing with them again. I think I will walk into this Ceramic coating shop soon. Mind to share how much you paid for yr coating pls?

Hi Lucas,

I am sincerely sorry to hear that you got a bad coat job from whatever company! So far, mine coat is doing great with minimal maintenance. You requested the price but I think the price has gone up recently.

So, if you are interested in getting the coating done by them, I suggest you contact Darren at +6018 - 2000 828 . Just mention Danny from BMW Forum and I think he should get you a discount. A few hundred bucks cheaper but hey, you can use it to buy me a teh tarik and roti canai if we cross paths!

I seen their work on black units, looks absolutely stunning. Similar to bro VAL101 that posted above. That picture should give you a good example or impression on how your car should shine like and not how it is now.

For the address and location, just click to the first page of this thread. Please post your pictures here if you decide to get it done. Love to see shinny rides.

Another day, another gloss!

Yours Faithfully.

Hi John,

I think there is a package from them on 9H which would be the top package.

Again, prevention on stone chip really depends on the force of the chip.

No coating is good enough to prevent stone chips if the impact is hard enough. There's only one solution which is Paint Protection Film

^ Agreed. I was just wondering if this coating does help to some degree. But if the force is strong enough, no film would help too right?

Dear Guys,

I did only the silver level. Sadly there are stone chips and this is expected. Not sure if the platinum level is resistant to stone chips. Will need to check with Darren on that and revert back to you guys. However....sadly, the platinum level is just too expensive.

If you were to measure the thickness of the coating vs the plastic film it's a measurement of nano meters vs milimeters.

Long story short, it depends how sharp and how fast the stone chip is flying to your car. That said, the plastic film protection does provides better protection against stone chips as it's basically thicker than the coating.

However, last I check, just to laminate the front bumper of a F10 will cost me about RM2.3K. Bear in mind... for best protection, the bonnet and the lamps and also the side mirrors should be laminated. That will cost a bomb. If you use a cheap film, the plastic may also shrink and turn yellowish over time.

Now...if you have serious cash...do the ceramic coating such as Ceramic Pro to get the shine and gloss! Then send it for clear film lamination to lock in the shine and get the protection at the same time.

All the best to what you decide to do for the best for your car.

Another day another decision !

Yours Faithfully.

A piece of information, coating thickness is measured by micron like in plastic film thickness measurement.

I will be posting something in this thread pretty soon. Keep an eye out!

YF, sorry to hijack your thread.

After reading positive reviews on Ceramic Pro, I decided to have it done on my car. I thought I'd share some pics. I got the silver package + interior. Overall I am satisfied with their services. They are very professional/efficient, which is very important to me. The car looks great, although the true test is actually to see how long the effect can last. I ll let you guys know if the gloss/shine survives after a few months.

p/s: YF, cant wait to see what you have up your sleeves!

Hi Syam,

Your ride looks good! Don't worry about the coating. Had mine done in Jan 2015 and there was no problem with the coating.

Stay tune....the wet look!

Back in early this year, I was searching for something that will protect the paint of my car as well as give it that gloss at the same time. After much research, I decided to do the ceramic coating on my Alpine White paint to protect it from environmental factors such as oxidation, bird crap, acid rain and etc.

Hence, I went ahead with the silver level coating from Ceramic Pro due to budget constraints. Platinum would have been my choice though if given the chance.

It has been sometime since I last updated this thread but quite frankly there was nothing much to update as the Ceramic Pro coating was doing its job well and kept its promise of :

1. Washing off dried bird poop with ease. These include the liquid and also the semi solid type. Yea, crap…. I had it all.
2. No maintenance needed for the coating as shine and gloss is still there even after close to a year of application. Note : I'm lazy & wash my car about every 2 weeks. 3. Car remains silky to the touch. Even my regular car wash guy says it’s so easy to wash my car. They don’t even dare to bukak mulut about their polish and waxing services.
4. No water marks! These were my main concern when selecting a coating. So far so good.
5. The interior coating retains it’s natural feel. Spillage has happen with kids and wipes off easily. Just use tissue paper to absorb the liquids and dry off with a clean cloth.

Since I am very satisfied with the coating, I decided to take it 1 step further. At time of first coating, I was thinking the additional layers of coat will make no difference. Boy….was I wrong.

Last week, I went ahead to upgrade my coating from silver to gold level. If not mistaken, an additional 3 layers was added on. Please find attached are the pictures (click on photo to view) of my ride after the Gold level upgrade. It’s even more sexy and captivating than the first time I set my eyes on her.

I simply love the way it looks now. The additional coating now gives it an almost wet look. Simply awesome!!!

Currently, I feel that the coating is already perfect. The wet looks makes me wet everytime I see her. Now I am wondering, how will platinum level make it better?

ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER WET LOOK !!!

Yours Faithfully.

YF, You just cant let me have it, can you??? I was perfectly happy with my coating before I saw your post! arrrggrrghhhh!!!

Anyway, glad to know that their words hold water.

Damn your car looks nice!!! Would you mind sharing with me how much you paid for the additional 3 layers?

YF bro based on your advice I went to do silver package. But my result not as good as yours but it's not the product's problem, as least I think. I suspect it just doesn't look as nice on my mineral grey colored car. But on white it looks very good. Btw what's the upgrade fee, from silver to gold?

Hi Syam...the additional 3 layer cost me about RM2500.00 . Just wanted to share. Your ride looks just as great especially since its a 528i M-sport. Me only a diesel smoking 520d.

Hi fifty5... cost as mentioned above. At least you know that your paint is getting its protection.

By the way, here is a sample of a mineral grey coated with Ceramic Pro : http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/newforums/index.php?/topic/38935-mineral-grey-f32-after-coating-at-ceramic-pro-malaysia/?fromsearch=1

It looks great!

P/s : Tigr....if you reading this...your car looks great with the new mods. Did they do the coating for you on your new mods?
