Thanks for the info YF! I dont think I can afford it right now, it's very tempting though. Maybe I ll consider it after a year. Keep us posted on the coating condition!

HI bro Syamsulstar,

Will definately keep all posted on the coating condition. Cheers

Hi guys,

Some have PM me asking a series of questions. One common question I get is...do you have to wash the car weekly to maintain its shine ?

I was away in Germany for 2 weeks previously and only got back on last Tuesday morning. Car was left untouched for 2 weeks. Since it was raining most of this week evenings, I only decided to wash it today. That makes it close to 3 weeks un touched and unwashed!

Please find attached are picture of the car after 3 weeks untouched. Only some hand prints are visible to show how dirty the car was. I must say this, even though the car is covered with so much dust, it still shines. Look at the photo. Zoom in if you can and you will see the dust.

The other picture is how my ride look like after her long overdue bath time. It has been wiped dry but it still had that alluring wet look that I was going for.

In my opinion, in terms of maintenance for this coating is bare minimum. No need to be a slave to the car!

This is what I can update to all of you today. Still monitoring the coating and will report back to all of you accordingly.

Another day another shine!

Yours Faithfully.

i usually just read the forum and don't comment, but i see above comment a bit aggressive and did not back up with any proof. i did ceramic pro coating before CNY last year. The end results is still great and im pretty sure they did not ask me to go back every 6 months for maintenance. those interested can always call them up to verify the information.

Yes, all their staffs are local. i talked with them and they can explain with ease on what they are doing throughout the process.

Hi guys,

Did you know that ceramic coating is actually a soft coating and it is not very durable. If you realise, their packages require you to go back for maintenance every 6 months or so, this is because their coating quality is not able to last longer than that! And most of their worker's are sabahans, who aren't very well known, for the quality of their workmanship. One of my customers who did his coating at Ceramic Pro was really disappointed with their coating, they actually damaged his car when polishing it, because they didn't bother to mask the rubber sides. He said that eventhough he has a 5 year warranty with Ceramic Pro, he doesn't want to go back to claim it - in fear of them damaging his car even more.

So be warned. If you want quality for a reasonable price check out my company: ecoat, I can safely say that we are the only hard coating provider in Malaysia. Visit one of out showrooms for a free consultation :)

Well.. well.. you guys are too hard selling. this is pretty unethical mate..Agreed with Alan, im just a silent reader in the forum but just cant refrain to reply in seeing this way of marketing.. Stepping down on others doesnt really make you stand out from others mate. i believe many of the bimmer owners here have done the coating with ceramic pro.. including myself. they provide excellent service, professionalism up to 6 stars.. and of coz durable products.. here's my ride after 12 months.. sparkling shine.. love the interior coating the most. still kept the comparison interior coating that ceramic pro updated me last time. its in perfect condition.

Apologies for those posts by ecoat. I have suspended posting privileges for the time being. The committee will be getting touch with said person.

This is mine after 6 months. Coated at Automotive Detailing Studio in PJ. Still loving it.

I just had my F10 done last Saturday with Ceramic Pro. Ben was extremely patient and polite with me and explained quite clearly their products and services. Since I just got my car pre-loved and it did come with some minor marks and scratches around, I didn't even consider Magnus Pro. I went with the 3 layers of Ceramic Pro coating and also had the interior done together. Sent the car in at 9.30am, collected it at 6.30pm.

All in all, it was a hassle free experience and the car looked great when I picked it up. It has been raining every day since then so I've been diligently wiping dry the car at night or early the next morning as advised by Ben, who said to avoid shampoo washes and to dry wipe dry during the first 3 days after the coating is done (coating not cured completely). I must admit that with the coating, it is much easier to wash and dry the car, compared to a week ago when the car was naked.

The 5 years warranty is pretty comforting as well:
1. Paint color will not fade
2. Water repellent effect of the coating will remain
3. Any modifications to the car, such as add-on bodykit, changing of rims, or repairs after accident, they will coat the new/replaced parts for free.

If the 3k price tag isn't an issue for you, go for it! Just remember to not send the car for any polish services which use abrasive techniques cos that will remove the coating.

Dear Change4Good,

Magnus Pro is their film protection wrap. This is good to have and is advisable to be done before too much stone chips appear on the front portion of the car. The film offers better protection than a coating can. Coating protection or thickness is measured in nm (nanometer) while film is in mm (milimeter). It does not take a rocket scientist to tell you which provides better protection.

I have seen the film myself. Once the film is installed, it does give a mirror like finishing which is pretty impressive. Wish to do on my car if I have the extra mullahs.

If you do it, do share with us the outcome and the installation experience. Their service has been good so far.

YF, is it obvious that there is a film on the surface of the car once Magnus is installed? Any issue with it turning brown after a while?

The film is almost un-noticeable unless u run your fingers near certain edges. Only then u can feel the plastic at the edge. But if you are sitting in a car next to a car that has been wrap, you will not be able to tell the difference.

Another way to tell the difference is the clear wrap area is not as licin to the touch if you compare to the ceramic coating. That was my observation after feeling my friend''s car. That said, the clear wrap still has the water phobic feature similar to the ceramic coating.

If you have a white car like me,I was told that over time, the film may turn a little bit yellowish and can be obvious on a white car. I was informed on a dark coloured car,no differences can be seen.

One good thing is, they do not cut the film while it's on your car. Hence this eliminates cut or scratch marks after removing the film. This is very important!!!

Another day another tarpau. Hahaha.

Yours Faithfully,
F10 Crew

Thanks for the info... Still considering whether Magnus pro or the full ceramic pro...
BTW, this will need the car at the workshop for 3 days?

Hi Guys, I just thought I'd share the current condition of my car 6 months after the coating done by Ceramic Pro (silver package - 2 layers of Ceramic Pro 9H). I think I am still satisfied.

On a side note, a guy at my car wash tried to sell me "water wax", which can be applied within 5 minutes. Since I had never heard of this, I decided not to go for it, although it would only cost ~ RM30 - 40. If anybody has tried this water wax, it would be very helpful if you could share your experience. Thanks.

Same thing here where the car wash guy was saying the water wax is another layer on top of the coating but I didn't go for it since not familiar with it.

Syam.... car looks goods. Can imagine that it will shine more under natural sun light. Upgrade to Gold and you will see your car having the 'wet' look.

as for the water wax, tried in on my wife's company car before. It gives a slight gloss but does not really last. If your car is already coated, I seriously doubt it will have an additional affect as your car is coated and already hydrophobic.

I just collected back my 330i from Ceramic Pro today after 5 long days....

I did the Ceramic Coating + Full Front Magnus Pro package. The car does look shiny but my eyes are not trained for these kinda things!

Anyway, hope that it is as good as advertised.

Thanks for sharing YF! The gold package will have to wait a bit longer as my pocket isn't as deep as yours you know. hahahahah!

Batman78 - Thanks for sharing the awesome pics of your ride man. I just got a cargasm. Mind sharing with us how much you paid?
