Hi Guys; Would like to ask whether any of you guys out there who owns one ? What is so special about the sports edition ? Is the performance and stability and cornering is as good as they mentioned ... Checked the forum but not much info about the sports edition. They also claim a hifi loud speaker system .. is it a harmon kardon system ?thanks

Is the mtech is equivalent of the stuff that comes in a M3 ? Does this also means that these options are better than the one that comes with exslusive spec ? Sorry guys ... i am really blur and really appreciate your explanations .. thanks.

test drove the exclusive model. Man was I impressed. Its a fun car to drive. I can only imagine the sports version to be more exhilariting. The sports version as mentioned by the Fuhrer has sports suspension, tyre specs are low profile and comes with the body kit.

its just got the mtech gear - body kit, suspension and wheels...
The CKD E45 325i SE also comes with black roof liners, carbon trims, xenons, rain sensor, sports seats and M door kickplates.

For the price, the C230K Avantgarde is a worthy option as well.

B)
325i SE (Second Edition) "Exclusive model" comes with normal setting like 16" rims and normal suspension non bodykits, Multifuction steering and electric memory seats.

325i SE (Second Edition) "Sport model" comes with sport setting on suspension, 8J x 18-inch, 225/40 R 18 tyres at front and 8.5J x 18-inch, 255/35 R 18 tyres at rear, Mtech 2 bodykits, sport Multifuction Steering and electric memory seats too. (Interior fabric in dark grey colour. Unlike the light grey normal version.)

Both should be using the standard gear ratio. Except the SMG model.

 By the way, stay out from C-class...very troublesome car and quality control not very impressed. 2 of my friends experienced it, common problems should be the sensor and feul pump, often engine stall. The Mach. says most problems is the Gearbox and the Kompressor unit. B4 i get my Beemer, i was consider to get the C230K too but after friends complaining their car... So, i just stick to BMW. Afterall, im driving very well and the car really make me impressed. B)

Sport version gets better pick up and better for demanding drive. Coz of the Suspension are stifftener, lower springs, different chassis setting.
So, the whole car gives very stable inline driving.

I don't think the 325 Sport Edition is any faster than the 325 Exclusive Edition because it use the same engine and auto g/b. The only difference is in the handling. The sport edition comes with
- Mtech II bodykit.
- Mtech sport suspension.
- 18" M wheel with 225/40-18"(F) and 255/35-18"®.
- M door sill.
- Black door trim.
- Sport electric seat for front driver and passenger.
- Interior and roof lining in black.
- Aluminium black-cube interior dash and door trim (not carbon fibre).
All that will cost the extra about RM20k.
Had a look at the used 325 brought by S/H last week. The 325 Exclusive is selling at RM200k with mileage about 10k to 16k km. Car is one year old, registered mostly June 2004. The Sport Edition is RM220k but all sold out the moment they brought it in. Car was told not use by BMW staff but by marshall for the F1. Im not so sure about that because F1 was in March and the car registered in June last year.
Regards.

can anybody confirm that the E46 creates the high speed nervousness is caused by the 'light steeering' feel as described by the Autocar magazine published in April?

remember i read in this forum somewhere that a member who bought a new E46 325 and didnt quite like the 'light steering feel' at high speed...but i cant recall at what speed (180kph/200kph)??

and the Autocar reviewed the recent E90 that had eliminate this high speed nervousness thing even at 200kph...can anyone explain?
thank you

The sports edition will be slower in a straight line drag. M tech bodykit actually generates downforce, and wider tyres more rolling resistance, and i believe the 18" are still heavier than the stock 16".

On the track the sports edition should give better lap times though.

I heard from my friend says 01-02 gets light steering and 03-04 gets havier steering at high speed. My 325i comes with light steering and it gives me very instant responds from road condition especially at high speed.

Better road holding gets better punch. But pick up from the starting line...the Sport model should be abit slower than Exclusive model. Rims problem.

The difference should be quite marginal tho. The 03 version (facelifted) gets uprated steering which has lower turning circle i.e. more precise and accurate compared to pre-facelift which can seem a bit vague, distant and requires more effort in "combat". I'm not sure if post-facelift had improved steering weight. I would have thought so. If it were up to me and I can afford it, get the Sports Edition. The goodies are well worth it!
