Some Q for the sifus2 here,What probably causes bee like sound when accelerating above 70km/h? i noticed the sound coming from the rear end of the car. FYI, ive already changed the right rear bearing and left front bearing. i also changed all four tyre with 2nd hand 70% (just assuming) thread michelin. have sent it for inspection and the mech say all my bearing is in no problem so he suggested changing rear axle oil only...done that but still the annoying sound wont go away...can any sifus help me troubleshoot this problem..Thanks in advancep/s: can it be the coil, tyre or rear bushing??:stupid:

Have you balanced the tyres after they were changed? Are they worn evenly ?

balancing work done already...can dented rims be held possible?

if properly balanced then I don't think dented rims will cause this. Are all 4 tyres the same brand? I used to have a similar issue when I had the original 16 inch wheels (no dents or any other damage) . They had cheap but new tyres on the them and 2 different brands (One of them was Nexen I think). When I hit about 80kms/h there was a hum and then would disappear by about 90+ kms/h. I thought it was the bearing as well but when I got the wheels changed to 18inch it went off which led me to believe that it was a balance issue.

hmm...the hum sound is so anoying..will go to tyre shop to have it balance once more..by the way, can coil/spring be the culprit also??

my car started to sound same like yours after a long drive from kl-perak-kl for CNY.no sound previously.the sound coming from the front of the car, i thought might be the tyre problem, update us please on ur finding.thanks!

Check air pressure on all tyres and make sure they are upto spec. Never heard of coil spring causing such issues. In anycase check for any broken springs. I was also thinking it might be the drive shaft. Check the 'guibo', pic below shows a badly damaged one.

while you're under there, check the drive shaft bearing too which is pictured here

hmm.must find time to go and have a undercarriage check..i really doubted if it the tyre that cause the hump sound..thanks bro for the info..surely help me narrow down the culprit list..

Last time i had this sound with my E39 . One of my regular shop advised me to change whole shaft , but my second mechanic adviced me to change the shaft join first before deciding to change the whole thing . So i did , and thank god , the sound dissapear.. so why not try with the joint first . best of luck
