ASC button means what ya??

hi everyone..i driving my dad e46 few month dy...and im still not really familiar everythings about dis car yet...and i saw a button around my gear box got a ASC button..and wat is dat for anyway??i try to press it when im in traffic light (free gear and jam on the halfway)..and it show me a icon..can any1 tell me abt dis?and i saw lots of video on youtube..they oso press the ASC while they trying their car speed...hmmm....hv no idea abt dis...:stupid::stupid:hope can hear u guys soon...and really appreciated for the reply..:top::top::top::top:

cut the long story short - its ur traction control... off it (icon shows on dash) and you can drift, burn rubber etc..

safer to leave it ON... so you dont fish dance when taking high speed corners...

ASC - leave it on and you can "Aku Sapu Corner"
Leave it off, good luck drifting... haha

dudu, by all means you must understand better how it works before trying any stuntz as you just started wt the car... safety bro safety!!

only once i see my ASC in action, the road was wet after rain, i was doing a corner of almost 360 degree, but i didnt go fast (around 60km/h), suddenly one of my wheel slip, the rear of my car was pull to the side, suddenly i feel a FORCE pulling the car back in place (i think its the ASC taking place) if not for the ASC, i think my car already spin 360. may the ASC force be with u

ON your ASC permanently, no need to off no matter what, unless u wanna drift or wanna see your car spin 360 x 3 when doing corner maut

its already on when you have initiated / swithed on the engine...no need to press any button..

ASC is useful. Found that out yesterday. Had a flat left rear tyre last night and had to use the spare. lo and behold, the spare was of lower profile and as smooth as baby's bottom. Driving the car pool to Seremban today, found the ASC light flickering oiff and on, buit with a full load, it was okay. But while driving on my own, just before the traffic lights, the ASC light came on and started to lose engine power for almost 10 seconds. Luckily, after that power returned, and my next stop was the tyre shop. The electronic differential cuts enginepower whenever it detects tyre slip. Very different from mechanical differentials
