Fabs,

don't be silly, no matter how good I get, it won't be enough to offset the 20kg weight penelty posed by my oversized belly (you do weigh at least 60kg, right?)! Unless it's 100cc vs 125 cc! Hahaha.

Suggestion:

Hey how about a "friendly" Alfa VS. BMW club kart endurance race? Say 5 drivers on each team, 2/3 teams per club, winning team gets to keep a Challenge Throphy for the year?

Then even if we can't settle which marque manufactures the "better" car, at least we'll be able to settle which Club has the BETTER DRIVERS!

Of course, other car clubs should be encouraged to join too. Should be a blast, eh?

that's a good suggestion...

Redd, u there???

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned anything about the Top Gear programme yesterday.... They were talking about the Alfa :nyehehe:

The 'best' part is, when Jeremy mentioned that "Any true car enthuasist isn't one till he owns an Alfa!"  :D hehehe... (or something along those lines...

did anybody here go to the auto italia test drive weekend in glenmarie

i went today and the new GT looks cool.....too bad the queue for test drive was at least 1 1/2 hrs...so I had to pass

fyi, all new alfas have cupholders...dun play2 ar. despite all the bad rap on its reliability...i think alfa has the best interior

but the price is too much i think...cheapest wud be the 147 at 185+

What time does ASTRO show topgear nowadays?

Wirelessjunkie,

When can I get the honour of viewing your ride dude?? B)

hi necc, there are already a two karting teams comprising alfa drivers who take part in the kart races at shah alam. i can hook u up with them if ur interested. if ur a regular on the karting scene u might even know them already. :)

personally, karting isnt my cuppa. its challenging no doubt, but to compare it to driving a road car is like saying a PS2 GT4 expert is also a good driver in real life. dont get me wrong, im not belittling karters. im just saying its a different challenge and different experience. i have some close friends who are good karters but dont drive their cars very well (or very safely).

'sides, im more interested in seeing how our FWD alfas fare against the superior RWD bimmers with 50-50 weight distribution. :) anyway, do gimme a PM if u wanna hookup with the alfa karting group.

redd

Redd,

even if you're not interested in karting, perhaps you can propose the idea to your club and see what the response is.

Your "Alfa Karters", do they kart 125cc karts?

Zoakies,

I don't see how what car(s) I own/drive make a difference to my assesement that you have an infant's mentality and the IQ of a (non-savant) idiot. It's plain to see... even to those without driving licenses.
So u mean i am idiot lar? KNN! You toilet bowl racer!!!! No car say no car lar...talk 'kok' for what? Go and drive your stupid go-kart lar.....KNNCCB!

Zoakies

We all know & i personally had a taxi ride from The Necc at SIC in his E46 M3. I thk Redd also seen his his car. So no need to tok this way right?

Everyone!
Please stick to the topic & not get personnel after all this is a car club right! :D

well sed, alvin! let's keep it civil in here. both sides included. :)

the necc, let me check for u. i really have no clue rite now. but i think the easiest way to "run" with those alfa karters would be to participate in the shah alam races. ill check with them how to go about doing it.

as for doing our own kart race, im all for it. if u dont mind doing "The Necessary" (hehehe... sorry, cldnt resist the pun ;) ) i'll post the details up on the club forum and see who's interested. do let me know.

redd

I'm a regular at the shah alam races. Steward & a few others from the Alfa gang are regulars also. The alfa's group are not 125cc karters. I'm game for a join event of Karting.

The Necc
You wanna organise this? :D

Hahaha! The Necc better arrange for a private security detail... :beaten:

I find it odd that the 156 GTA is going for RM360K here for its 250 bhp 3.2 V6 while the E90 330i is going for a whopping RM430K. In the UK, the 156 GTA is going for GBP28,215 which is almost similar to 258 bhp E90's 330i's GBP28,825. Both cars are CBU in Malaysia. For RM70K less, the 156 GTA is a great deal for enticing yet I betcha the 330i sells more. Why ah? Is BMW screwing us for making us pay so much more for a 330i?

The E90 325i with 218 bhp is going for GBP25,525 which is only GBP3,300 or RM23,100 less than 330i. Here, the difference is more than RM100K!

Juan,

I think we all need security from your rampant dick...

Anyways, YES(!) BMW Malaysia are screwing our asses when it comes to pricing! The CKD models are still rather fairly priced... but they are CKDs, and no disrespect intended towards all CKD drivers, I personally just don't feel that CKD BMWs are "true" BMWs.

Hence I have decided that the current BMW I'm driving will be the last "for pleasure" BMW I will own until their pricing strategy comes round. But, having said that, the new e60 M5 is suprisingly good value for RM899k! But it's too big (and a 4 door) to be a weekend car... and the M6 is going to come in around/over a million RM... and for that money, a Porsche, Ferrari beckons.

As for the Karting Event;

I know I'm going to sound like a nob here, but I only make the (brilliant) suggestions yo, not plan and organise them! Hahaha.

Anyhows, I think this is something that the committee should take up with their compatriots in the other car clubs, as to make this "meaningful", I think it should be an annual "challenge trophy" type of event.

Zoakies,

you finally get it! Yay! That's right, you are an idiot!

Off topic, to find out whether the Malaysian consumers are screwed or not, just check the OMV price of the model in Singapore.

Necc, can you check with PML what is OMV price for the e90, e60 and etc? Just compared with the local prices and we shall know how much is the difference! :)
