Bro,

things would change in 2008, as we are still on day 7 of the year 2008.

Come join and be an official member to make those changes that you want happen...... otherwise, it would just remain as you said, just a wish.....:top:

i dun wanna be planta....:10: cos i dun wanna end up in the roti bom...
ha ha ha ha....

but i dun wanna be anxious either.
cos i dun wanna keep freeriding on a club i dun intend to join just becos i am deluded of the self importance of my post counts thinking the club shud be grateful to me instead for helping it to generate revenue to get it going... not understanding that the forum belongs to the club and i am here at the generousity of the club. in addition, i dun wanna to be deluded into thinking that since you hired the maid, the gardener and the butler, i am helping to train up the efficiency of their service levels, and that all my complaints about them should be treated as constructive criticism and my worthy contributions should be hailed instead. i dun wanna continue fooling ppl around me that i will join the club ever becos of the reasons i stated earlier will never change (ever) and no matter what the club does, i will always find the reason to defend my decision not to join.

ooops. too much tea. solly. maybe i shud try smoking instead. :smokin:

There will always be free riders and to generate traffic, sad to say the forum needs them too. Otherwise, there will not be any Black ID member just like V-sixers club.

There's always this privileged thread that's closed to regular black ID member before u pay up, its off limit.. :( which I think its fair!

So far I'm enjoying playing outside the house for whatever personal reasons I may have.

As for BMW technical knowledge queries, I will jump right in to share my knowledge or experience and to many members, that's why they join the forum. Is to solve their car's problem rather than taking part in charity drive or to be part of the paid member/"shareholder".

In any car forum, there's always more "reader" than "poster". Without "poster", nothing to read ma.. so "poster" is as important too. Be it "Black" or "Blue".

I have seen clubs organised to gather as much members as possible and collectively, they went and ask for sponsorship for club events, T-Shirt making bearing their logos, goody bags for annual dinner, privileged pass during F1 races and car shows and so forth. Its a BIG business!!

As I have said, Black ID member better stay low profile... and quietly play our marbles outside the house.. :D Want to know what is inside the house, go get yourself a ticket and follow the red carpet.. :D

Sharing of knowledge is what we all want for the benefit of all.....

Once you are in da house, then naturally you can have more complaining rights..... still outside, good idea to just share or seek knowledge......:rock:

astroboy,

hahaha...small world....yah i was in Ys's group...very good outing that day some more took home 2 very big Toyota F1 bag...all for RM75 only...

anyway what you say is true abt the 'freeloaders', and we encourage it, thats why this forum is open to all...but what we are hoping is that a certain percentage of this 'freeloaders' will later be part of the club...and not just the forum. ...and membership has its privelages...our nicks get to be in blue...kekkekeke

Ok-lah, I'll hold my horses and see how 2008 pans out for the club.

Am I still welcomed to make suggestions or should I just be "seen but not heard"?

Cheers.

you are most wellcomed....but if you want to be heard and make those changes
you know what to do lah....:rock:

anxious, I'm sure your ideas are well said and you've voiced out in the forum. But of course, since you're not an official members, it would be up to the official members to bring them up to the AGM and get official answers from current club committee. By then, perhaps the answers will get back to you, or perhaps not. The forum is not an official avenue for the committee to respond, therefore one should not rely on it to get an official answer. If one really wanted to be heard and be part of the club, be an official member.

A very healthy debate indeed. Black or blue, as long as one behaves gentlemanly, I don't see any problems with voicing out opinions on how improvements can be made for the future betterment of this club. I am quite sure the current committee (or majority of them) will be making way for fresh blood and new ideas to steer this club forward.

FYI, the contents of this forum are and has been under the watchful eyes of relevant publics, especially now that it's an official club endorsed by International Council of BMW Club AG and also ROS.

I see a lot of good points being brought up by a few parties. The committee will take note of feasible suggestions while discounting the far-fetched ones for the time being. I know things can only get better.

I start to notice local advertisement in this forum, good la.. cash register starts ringing, thanks to the posting traffic the forum has generated and hopefully more will advertise in here to help funding our activities than just relying on the handful of generous contributors.

The quality of the arguments laid out here has left me speechless...... but I do have the following to say:

the blacks will always outnumber the blues;

the blues need the blacks... a forum is nothing without traffic;

put another way - the blues need the blacks more than they realise it;

BMW Malaysia will never support the club in the manner Toyota has done with 'tribe' because they themselves have not seen the value of the club OR in plainer words.... they havent seen where the club fits into their corporate communications strategy;

the blues will always have to put up with questions like this as long as there are lingering doubts over the management of money in any way;

and before anyone slags member Anxious off... let me say this - he has made a positive contribution to the club via the posting of his E36 purchase experience. He took the time to write it down to share with you guys. This is what makes a club/forum valuable.... this is perhaps more valuable than any club fee that he has NOT paid.

Jipster,

The club isn't just the forum. The forum itself is self-sustainable due to the traffic, but the club is not. We paid the membership fee to support the club, not the forum. This forum is just postings - a way of communication. The club involves much more interesting activities than just chit-chat or TT. Of course, now we all can see the club management isn't working the way we all want it. But, without supporting it (e.g. become official member), involving in its management (e.g. attending the AGM, voting for suitable ppl to be it's committee, planning for its future, etc), the club will not be successful.

Some people like to wait for things to get better before they join. Some people like to make things better by participating. Some ppl think the forum participation is enough for them, so they just stay forumers. Some ppl wanted more action in real life - teamwork, friendship, challenges, etc, hence they become part of the club.
