320i VS 320d

I would consider a very nice used 328i, it might be cheaper than 320i or 320d.

But if you must get a brand new car, get the 320i.

I don't believe so, my 184hp 320d can't out accelerate and will get left behind once passed the 180km/h mark. The 8-speed ZF gearbox is really good.
328i is definitely quicker but not the 320i for me.

Where is the diesel green 50% discount? I couldn't find it and I have been charged RM780 for my road tax when I renew it with Allianz insurance all this while....anything I can use to shout at Allianz?

LoL!

'STEVEN' it's easy to make decision , if within budget take 328i m-sport , if not take 320D m-sport ,that's it ...u never feel regret . i really feel regret for buying too early as the m-sport is so cool ....

I suggest you to test drive both.

In a fair comparison, both 320i and 320d is as fast, but some videos suggest otherwise.

But there is a small group of D owners always "shiok sendiri" imagining that their D are very fast, some of them even think their D can keep up with Evo/Sti/GTi.

Guys - you can have faster 320i or 302D with Race Chip! But also consider the combination: fast car with slow driver OR slow car with fast driver...it's hard to see a few seconds difference - end of argument hehehe. The reason I say 320D M-sport is because of the M-Sport items for very a small price difference, so very much worth it. I am driving 320i now but if I were to buy now..it would be as I say. I still loves my 320i nonetheless........just 1/2 cents :36:

There is no Msport for 320i because it is already selling like hot cakes. BMW Malaysia can discontinue 320d production if they launch 320i Msport.

If you must get 320D Msport, why not consider 328i Msport management car? 280K with mileage under 1000km.

Completely agree with you there! I have driven both the F30 320i and I own a E90 320d. I did a drag race with a F30 320i and lost, also on the straights at Sepang after turn 15, the 320i easily gets in front of me just before turn 1 even if I exit the corner of turn 15 faster than the 320i. So I know and for sure the 320i is definitely faster on a straight run and straight stretches (stock car vs stock car).

The fact that is, as much as the diesel is a fun car to drive with great FC (hehehe I still had half tank of fuel after a 4 hour track day session), the higher RPM range of a petrol engine plays a damn big role.

Damn I should have bought a golf GTI or audi Tts instead.... ish y I bought a lorry?

Because your lorry had a boot and can fit baby seats inside :)

I have a Diesel! best daily car ever... so nice not worrying about to fill up as often. The torque is super nice so lazy in the revs but so much power in the low end. I can't imagine those power kit diesels... no regrets except the clatter which i can't hear inside anyways.

Yes if u run on race track over 200km/h , 320i may have the advantage , but how many of us will on the race track . 270nm torque is definetely not enough , u have to rev hard and really not feel the fun on daily use .

Hehehe I know a lot of people here that don't need the race track to race over 200km/h

Oops I meant 110km/h :65::65::65:

I think this is due to the fact that the diesel is very 'torquey' when accelerating. That is why it feels fast. No way they can keep up with the Evo/Sti/GTi.
If you spend most of your time stuck in city traffic then the 320d is perfect.
I don't see any reason to buy a 320i over a 320d though, if you are after power get the 328i. The 320i and 320d are pretty much the same power wise. For me the diesel has the edge because of its fuel efficiency & torque.
