That is correct. There is more than one moderator on the forum and with more to come, so people please stop speculating.

Now back to the topic...

jason, come and shows us the effect of polyglaze. I also use polyglaze about 15 years ago. Now using soft99. Maybe we cn compare note.. BTW, I seldom wash or polish/wax my car.

sorry, somebody close your thread but I think whoever did it have a good reason.

reason:... ????

No problem bro.
It's always nice to able to discuss various brands and equipment out there.
I'll admit I don't know much about other stuff, so I'm always with a ready ear to listen to people out there who knows their stuff.
Btw , you said factory paint is 140 microns thick. This is also subjective to which brand of car. For example , Nissan cars are knowed to be ANOROXIC as it is well below 100 microns (feel free to correct me :)).
Hope you don mind me asking, what brands of products do you use? Any good recommendation? :p
Cheers

the newer bmws & minis using ceramiclear have around 140 microns from factory. nissans im not too sure, also depends which factory they come out from but under 100 microns seems dangerously low

heres a list of products i currently use

sealant: Zaino z2pro for metallic, z5pro for solid
wax: Swissvax onyx, P21s (no durability in malaysian climate), Optimum car wax (spray wax)
polishing compound: Menzerna range
clay: claymagic blue
other products such as citrus cleaners, wheel cleaners and body shampoo i use Final Inspection (boutique quality products from australia)

best way to remove tree sap is to clay the car.

Yes. Take a PTG and measure Nissan OEM paint. I've heard many detailers complaining that Nissan has the thinnest paint in the market.

Wow !
So much stuff ! I'm mostly using Meguiars products. Mind sharing information? I'm actually looking for citrus cleaners to clean stubborn stain yet still safe on clear coat. Hoping to try some.

Cheers

so who CLOSED my other thread

To all bmw owners
i am an owner like many others in this forum. i write my opinion on the products i buy & paid with my hard earned money. when i speak the truth and results of the products, some unknown wacko locked and closed the subject up!
i never said all products are no good on my own car. only the ones i written about.
so far even small hujan will waste all the time and effort of waxing or polish.
there is no proof wax and polish are really what is claimed. so many claimed to produce shine and protection and clearcoat safe.
the only cheap way i now do is wash my car and wipe dry with german microfiber cloth. no bird or water marks! some more very few swirl marks unlike before when i use to wax my car every month.
when i find a good wax, i will write a thread on it. hopefully no betty fool or tea lady or salesman will close or delete my thread to prevent lost of sales for the sponsor.
i dont want my paintwork to be spoiled by using "not up to bmw standard" products. mine is a 1 year old bmw.

Come to TT la Jasonsim so we all can see your car,and may be the person who locked your thread may be there as well.

insulting moderators and official members doesnt help.
bottom line is get your facts straight or shutup.
waxes do NOT cause swirls. only incorrect application and removal or dirty applicators can cause swirls.

why don't you post some pics of your car showing the condition of the paint so we can all have a good laugh. i feel sorry for whoever buys your car in 5 years if you still havent found a wax up to 'your bmw standards' by then.

i have recommended products that are not from Meguair's on this forum before and i don't see any of my threads being locked. Yours did because you were obviously trolling.

Hello,

Since you got a new car, it is wiser to get advice from Auto Bavaria.

Whoever locked up the thread has definitely got a grudge against you. The mystery is nobody wants to owe up. As an IT administrator, I know it is possible to find out who.

Been enjoying this forum for us since last year. But this incident of insulting another forumer and encouraging others to laugh at somebody's car is deplorable. What happened to the rules and regulations of this forum? When is insulting or inciting others to react has become acceptable?

Bro, with due respect, your other comments are good but i find this particular paragraph rather disturbing.

Grudge? Goodness gracious, what on earth for, mate? The forum rules are clear as to what is and what isn't allowed.

C'mon guys, everyone come to TT tonight at Shiok Cafe lah, then we can iron things out without conspiracy theories and whatnot.

I'll even buy you guys drinks. Come, come. :top:

krishnamaniam, have a think about this.

in the thread starter's first post he tries to bait others to respond. he joins a forum just to say that certain products are useless? this is known as trolling.
he did not follow the forum rules on introduction.

when his thread gets locked he blames official members and implies that his thread was locked because the forum is sponsored by that particular manufacturer.

his claims show he has little or no experience in detailing. if you want to start a discussion or in this case put down other products, get the facts right first!

in his third post he continues to show that he has no knowledge in detailing and insults a moderator and ontop of that STILL implies that the thread was locked to protect a forum sponsor.

he claims that his car is in better condition without a wax so why not post up some pics to prove it? then others can decide for themselves.
i am not trying to instigate any other members to laugh at him but i do know from experience that what he is saying is ludicrous. i clearly posted the facts and he ignored it each time. by the time i made that post i was more than a little ticked off by his refusal to face the facts so it may have sounded a little rude and for that i'm sorry. i made the post with good intentions.

my dad's e39 which was owned from new was only polished every 2 years and never waxed. it was washed carefully every week though. 7 years later it needed a full respray.

do you think his posts should be left unanswered?
what if other members take his advice and then have to face the consequences at the end?
i know i shouldnt feed the trolls but i felt it was necessary to post the facts and let others decide on what they want to believe.

Cheers

PS: i have spent many many manhours working on my car and over RM6000 on detailing products & supplies, so for someone to say that detailing is rubbish makes me more than a little angry.

If u haven't noticed, jasonsim has only 3 posts so far. He had started on the wrong footing by dishing wrong facts and information. His posting bordered on being considered as SPAM, not that we haven't been bombarded with SPAMs before. So it's totally reasonable to lock a thread like these.

It is exactly for this reason that the moderators do not want to have trolls in the forum... jasonsim posting does not show diplomacy and respect. If he were to post the same thing in other online forums abroad, he would have been gunned down a lot worse than wat he got here.

Detailing is a subject close to heart of a true enthusiast so for him to diss detailing in his first posting, he's just asking for it....

Hi Jason

I used before some of the stuff myself. I disagree with some of the people here. Especially the people who ganged up and accused without asking details of what kind of results were you expecting. There are some wax or accessories which are over hyped and cleverly marketed. But personally, I am using Meguair NXT Detailer and their NXT spray wax. I think they are good enough. I used Polyglaze Diamond polish and did not liked it. But have not tried their car wash yet.
Jason, maybe, you were expecting 'magic'? I know a few people who genuinely expected their car to shine like a lighted disco mirror ball for a month. There is no such miracle cure if your paint is not good in the first place. Yours is a new car still, so I think the effect is not so great yet because your paint is probably new still. Were you expecting to make your already glossy car shinier? If it could only happen, then I think it will blind alot of drivers around.

Ayo! Ayo! I don't use polish mah!
Bought one can, 17 years ago when the car is still new. Last I check the can is still around (Car sold already) in one of the treasure boxes, albeit rusty and all dried out ... maybe I threw it away ... I donno.
Want to wax .. I just go to shop.

My 2 cent! .. when joining this forum be more respectful of others.
