I remember having easy access to biji saga (long time ago!) .. they could be found just anywhere - for free... just pick them up from the ground and putting them in lovely jars and bottles! Now i have to pay to buy a bottle of it! Which I will not.. it's not the money.. it's my refusal to trade my memories.

It's almost like buying seashells - when the best part of collecting them was that you picked them off the beach yourself!

And kids these days dont even know what rubber seeds look like any more!

Saga seeds were collected, sew into a little pouch and the girls used to play 5 stones....

...was it the rubber seeds that when rubbed heavily on a piece of cloth became hot?

..and then there was the palm oil seed that comes in the shape of a Heart. Used to process that, soak it in coconut oil for a few days and then polish it. Thread a hole thru the top, string it and wear it around your neck....
hahaha...i still have mine!
Remember? Remember?

And also BattleStar Galactica!!! Yeah..

You know the scene when they launch the Viper with the light passing quickly before they left the mothership? Well you can experience it in KLIA. Heres how. Drive to KLIA at night, go to balai berlepas. After you pass the last Pintu (6 i think) you will be leaving the building and go little down hill right? Imediately after the building, you can see those divider/barricade on your left and right has white light and they are at eye level (if you are sitting in the car dirving). As you accelerate, these lights zoom by you faster and faster and when the divider ends, it will be like total darkness. So if you accelerate really really fast, you kinda got the feeling that you are inside viper and being launch into space(darkness).

Try it. You will see what I meant. Remember, must accelerate really fast and the lower the car the better.

Bro, "19", was that the song about Vietnam and the average GI sent to die was 19?

I beileve the rapper that started the whole "white rap" scene was Vanilla Ice who got "iced' with his Ice Ice Baby...got sued big time by David Bowie and Queen for stealing the "start riff" of "Under Pressure"

To me ...the 1st ultimate white rapper was Mark Knopfler, Dire Straits....go listen to Juliet, and even Sultans of Swing....wasnt he rapping way back then?

Starting to get out of my league...

Speakin of Dire Straits.... Anyone ever bumped into The Kenny Everret Show???

An English comedy sketch thing... Featured lotsa Dire Straits, Cliff Richards, Hot Chocolate, Boomtown Rats, etc, etc....

After that it was Jackie Cheung (before he got famous!!), Anita Mui and Leslie Cheung. Until today, I dont understand Cantonese songs! hehehe.

If Bruce Lee was still alive, he would be 65 years old....how fast time flies. ...and its been 32 years since his death...

I remember the times when new releases of Bruce Lee films were always screened during the Chinese New Year. Riot police or the FRU had to be called in for crowd control at the cinemas.

Too bad he made so few films before he died at his prime.....

"Fist of Fury"
"Big Boss"
"Way of the Dragon"
"Enter the Dragon"
"Game of Death" - unfinished.

I used to have the Bruce Lee t-shirt with him doing his famous flying kick!

Hahaha..I was running around the cinema when my parents were watching The Big Boss :)

Another great song from the 80s, Mike and the Mechanics (The Living Years)

Every generation
Blames the one before
And all of their frustrations
Come beating on your door

I know that I’m a prisoner
To all my father held so dear
I know that I’m a hostage
To all his hopes and fears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years

Crumpled bits of paper
Filled with imperfect thought
Stilted conversations
I’m afraid that’s all we’ve got

You say you just don’t see it
He says it’s perfect sense
You just can’t get agreement
In this present tense
We all talk a different language
Talking in defence

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It’s too late when we die
To admit we don’t see eye to eye

So we open up a quarrel
Between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the future
It’s the bitterness that lasts

So don’t yield to the fortunes
You sometimes see as fate
It may have a new perspective
On a different day
And if you don’t give up, and don’t give in
You may just be o.k.

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It’s too late when we die
To admit we don’t see eye to eye

I wasn’t there that morning
When my father passed away
I didn’t get to tell him
All the things I had to say

I think I caught his spirit
Later that same year
I’m sure I heard his echo
In my baby’s new born tears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It’s too late when we die
To admit we don’t see eye to eye

Did you know that Mike from Mike & the Mechanics was from the band Genesis? Along with Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins who all launched successful solo albums.
