.....just got back from the Rumah Cacat Kanak Kanak Charity event and I must say it felt real good..........to meet with and interact with the "abandoned" kids. It was certainly an eye opener for some of us to see the less fortunate neglected by their families and shun from love that they so much deserve.
It was a great turnout on our part, all those who said they would come, came and many more ...with their families too.(sorry, im bad with names and nicks)
The glee and smiles on the faces of these innocent kids made it all the more worthwhile and we even took some of them for joy rides in our cars.
The food and other necessities we managed to collect and contributed amount to about RM 3,500 worth.....from daily and basic necessities like rice, milk, meehoon, cooking oil, sardines, cereal, oats, margarine, sugar, salt, potato, onions, garlic, milo, nestum, coffee, tea, sweets and tidbits to household essentials like dettol, bath towels, cushioned mats, laundry detergent, medical and nutritional supplies and even an office table.
Besides all these, we also managed to collect cash totalling RM2,700.
As we left, I can vouch for most (if not all) of us that there was a "feel good" feeling deep inside us all....that we have touched the lives and hearts of some of them in our little way and it showed in all their faces. ..yes, they know that there are people out there who didnt forget and do care for them...
The loud "bye' from all the kids just made us wanna come back again sometime soon!
