Was that a record that still stand till today? Amazing!

Everytime when I hear Beat It, the guitar solo by Pink Floyd still gives me the good vibe! :)

Not sure about that but in the US Charts it stayed for 724 weeks
- 14 years. You dont get albums like that anymore.

Yeah, David Gilmour is the master and the worlds best "slow guitarist".

"The Great Gig In The Sky" still gives me goose-bumps each time I listen to it....A song without any lyrics and its not an intrumental !

The Hit Song by Flying Pickets!

ONLY YOU - 10/12/1983
5 weeks at #1 - 11 weeks on chart

Looking from a window above
It's like a story of love
Can you hear me
Came back only yesterday
We're moving farther away
Want you near me
All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Only you

Sometimes when I think of your name
When it's only a game
And I need you
Listen to the words that you say
It's getting harder to stay
When I see you
All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Only you

All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Only you

All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Only you

This is gonna take a long time
And I wonder what's mine
Can't take no more
Wonder if you'll understand
It's just the touch of your hand
Behind the closed door

All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Only you
:D
Aaah! This Only You brings back memories to me. Actually sang this on stage to someone b4. :D

I thought Eric Clapton is also considered one of the best "slow hands"? :D
Clapton is "slow-hand"...i guess in the blues category...while Pink Floyd's music is considered "acid rock"....

then there are the speed freaks in the Rock category like Joe Satriani (my hero), Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen, .

Those days we call these "Underground music" or "Heavy Metal".

Some guitar greats over the years: My choice:
Jimi Hendrix
Hank Marvin - Shadows (Cliff Richard)
Ritchie Blackmore - Deep Purple
Jimmy Page - Led Zeppelin
Steve Gaines/Allen Collins - Lynyrd Skynyrd
BB King - Blues
Steve Howe - Yes
Duane Allman - Allman Brothers band
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Blues
Tony Iommi - Black Sabbath
Eddie Van Halen - Van Halen
Carlos Santana - Santana
Mark Knopfler - Dire Straits
Buddy Guy - Blues
David Gilmour - Pink Floyd
Brian May - Queen
Roy Buchanan - Blues
Angus Young - ACDC
Slash - Guns & Roses
Joe Satriani
Steve Vai
