yup those were the days when Malaysians were mostly decent ppl with good value system..look at our society now :(

Okow, how bout the The Flying Pickets?? (your the other half like them wor hehe..."Only YOU!"), Gerry and the Pacemakers, Glen Campbell (RhineStone Cowboy), Associates, TOTO, Level42 and LOBO?? Not many realise but Chicago started from early 70s!! Their best song.."If you leave me now"!!

I honestly find songs from the 60s and 70s were beautiful...my favorite song of all time, "SMILE"!!

And I guess this song is right for you hehe (guess the singer!)

Those were the days my friend, we thought it'll never end...... :D

You know sifu Al? when I listen to 'those were the days..I'm reminded of the TM-Rafidah spat? haha :D :D

Another beautiful song, dedicated to the terrorists...

Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one

Yeah..sure...we'll meet some day. I was a Sixties child and man....those were the bestest years in so many ways. Like my earlier posts...life was more carefree and not so stressful. People were friendlier amongst their own as well as inter racial. It wasnt too much of a materialistic world too....come what may, we made the best of the day.
Kids were not so spoiled as today...cell phones was not only not a neccessity but unheard of....now, you cant leave home without it.
Well, I guess we have all progressed and got used to the "new life" and not being connected nowadays is not too "cool".
Even the talk we talk now is different....Westernised or Americanised in many ways.
Sometimes, I dont event understand what our radio DJs are saying, they try but somehow there dont sound right.
Well, we went thru the"breakdancing fad" that was even debated in Parliment whether to ban that craze or not...then came "skateboarding"...now, its a admired dance form as well as skateboarding being inducted into the Xtreme category of sports.
Remember, we had the "lepak" era as well as the much publicised "Bosiah"menace. Were they really problems ?
All these have somewhat evolved and found its way into society or died a natural death.
In the Seventies, having "Tatoos" was a taboo...it was associated with the triads and there used to be raids by the ever often seen FRU (Federal Reserve Unit) ...the guys in blue with their red helmets that come in RED trucks. If caught with a tatoo during a raid, you'd get a free visit to the lock-up.....and man....do they treat you right in there!
..........down memory lane
"when I was small.....and Christmas trees was tall,
doo doo doo doo doo"
Great stuff... so you must have been around for all the 60's stuff

weed
flower power fashion
sex drugs and rock and roll
The fender stretocaster

also were you around during the May 13th riots and all.
The Vietnam War
Vee Dubs in colourfull colours

Just to name a few lah. Anyways you must have very intresting stories. show up for TT some time

sith

Little known fact...

Did you know that the Flying Pickets actually covered "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana? And "Under The Bridge" by RHCP.

Really cool versions but can't seem to find it anywhere!!!

Wow...you touched my heart.

That's my all time fav song. Not only for the so meaningful lyrics but at the same time written and sung by someone who preaches peace who ironically died violently being murdered.

So, many more great songs. Did you know that te song "Give Peace A Chance" - also by Lennon was the First Live TV coverage beamed across the World. It was filmed in a suite room of the New York Hilton.

Yes, Iam a big fan. Was in New York several months ago and took a stroll into Central Park where there is a section dedicated to the late John Winston Lennon aptly called "Strawberry Fields". Until this day 25 years after his tragic death, people still lay flowers and say a little pray for Peace at the site. Just across the street from Strawberry Fields is the infamous Dakota Apartments, where John and Yoko lived and where John Lennon was shot dead on the pavement on December 8, 1980.
Wow....thats 25 years ago and his songs live on....
Imagine
Come Together
Give Me Some Truth
Nowhere man
Just Starting Over
Woman
Jealous Guy
Mother....and over 500 more

This is my all time favourite!!!!! :)

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through
For you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear maybe ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile- what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worth while
If you just smile
Oh that's the time you must keep on trying

Smile what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worth while
If you just smile
