ya, price not bad with 323....but still confuse with 323i & 325i both same 2.5cc right?

Anyway, i already get the photocopy document from the owner, will try get loan from bank for that 323 on monday, heard hard to get loan on BMW now(older year), as he said properly can get around 30k from bank only.

How much are you paying? If it's around 50k, go for 328. You will enjoy it. If the car is nice, it's never seldom use. How often you see a guy post a nice picture of a girl and say seldom use? Think abt it.......

Hi,

I had the same dilemma as you before this.
After a long research, car survey & test drive, finally i settled with e46 325 2005 msport model.

This baby for sure will but a big grins on my face everytime i step on the gas pedal hard.
Nice 6 potters sound from the hood which is priceless.

Wht I can say, I am lucky enough to found a nice car with full service record, without any single major problems so far, touch wood.
Just need to maintain regular service and give a new shoes for the worn rubbers.

Don't be rushing, really survey until u satisfied with the car conditions, and make sure bring over a good mechanic, to make sure you
won't loose leg & hand for the repair cost after this.

happy hunting!!

yo, i just back from test drive 2002-325i M sport(not sure is real m sport or not) No: WUF 4709, anyone know the owner? heard is malay owner b4. any story about this car?

Power ok, but when i test, have a little bit of sound like "knocking", wonder is steering or suspension.

selling 79k on the road,....consider now...

need more info...

1. Full tank how much? can go how many km? i need to know this really really well..
2. RON 95 can used? any side effect if using RON 95?
3. normal service will cost how much?
4. anymore i need to take note on this car? need all your advised here.

Thanks

1. Full tank refill when light lighted up ~RM100+. Highway driving can go about 600+km (110-120km/h). Faster will drink more fuel as power is used to overcome drag and skin friction.
2. RON 95 can be used as stated in the Owner's Manual. No problem at all using RON 95. The car ECU will adjust to suit the fuel you use and it takes time. So better don't switch from RON97 and RON 95 frequently and make the ECU having hard time to find the best timing.
3. Service at Authorised Service Centre is expensive. Outside there are a lot of BMW specialist can handle E46 just as well as Authorised Service Centre. For cost, you can refer to the Parts and Maintenance Cost thread in 3 series E46 section which covered many things. Engine oil is volume 6 liter. Use at least a semi-synthetic oil but fully-synthetic preferred.
4. High recommended to send to a reputable BMW specialist mechanic to check before purchase so that you know what is the problem come with the car. Just a word of reminder, no matter how good is the mechanic, he is still no GOD and cannot possibly detect all problem in the car. But at least he could tell you the major problem / costly replacement needed for your attention.

Good luck.

FYI bro, better go for 325 instead of 323, if you test drive it you will know the HUGE different on Torque ! Paying same cc but different power bro.. Even 328 will lose to 325 when launch ! Think twice ~

It all depends on the individual but i suggest going for the 325i. I am driving the 318i, which is good for me. More powderful then my 2.3L MPV, hahaha, old man's car. Anyway, please do take the car to the mechanic and go through a full checking. Dont be like me, full by the looks. I got some problem but again the dealer puts a warranty on the car and he is paying for the issues on the car. Happy hunting.

The 323i posting stated 1999/2003. As I understood it, it's made in 1999 and brought in to Malaysia in 2003. But it looked like a facelifted version which only started in 2002. Facelift done 'manually' by the owner? Or supplied wrong pic? Or maybe I interpret the 1999/2003 wrongly?

Also, cracked front bumper lip. Yikes.

yeow,

perhaps the previous owner do the conversion. AFAIK it will cost you around RM 4K if u get it from chop shop, u will get used front headlamp ( non projector ), front bonnet, left and right bonnet, front bumper and rear bumper. price excluding workmanship.

if buy from those sunway shop ( read: fibre bumpers ) might cost you cheaper than that.

I agree with you morrogan.

basic rules: please put aside around RM 10K for service/spare parts. since the car is already quite old on the road, if the previous owner cant give you complete maintenance receipt etc

328i torque is yummy ! beside the higher roadtax which is if I am not mistaken around RM 1.6K yearly, other than that it is a nice car with plenty of torque, you gonna need it when driving in the highway!

so good luck searching for your dream car!

Lauguan,

Becareful during your hunting, I found out a lot of used car dealer are not so honest.
Check carefully and bring a mechanic to inspect the car, instead of listen to the sales man.

Share one of my previous experiance.
I almost placed a booking for an E90 325, 2006, selling for only RM 141k.
The milleage was only 72kkm.
The salesman keep on asking me to place a booking, but resist to let me test drive the car.
I found out the tappet sound is a bit loud, he said because the car been sitting there for sometimes, is normal.
Then the engine suddently died, I asked why, he said Oh, no more petrol, and direct took away the key.

I smelled something fishy, and I was lucky enough because never place the booking.
Called AB, found out the car actual milleage was 147kkm on last April 2011.
So the meter been tempered, too good to be true!!!

The car dealer is at Jln Kapar Klang, and the car Plate number is WPQ XXXX.
I dont want to put the dealer name here, but just to share the experiance.

Wow.. this is terrible man ! Btw bro, how you check the mileage in AB without any key or document ?

Normally AB won't simply disclose the information to outsider.
But since my friend is working in AB, she helped me on tht.

They juz need the vehicle reg. number to check on the service record.

lauguan

first of all, ask yourself, what do you want from the car? plenty of torque? save on petrol? or?
I think you should test drive all the cars that u want to buy before getting one.

it is gonna take some time before finding a good one within your budget.

dont worry about those rims, or the steering wheel, I am sure u may find any design that u like later, u can find them in mudah.my.

the most important thing is either the engine is healthy and interior is OK. if exterior is superb also no use if engine not good. bring along ur mechanic to check what parts you need to change later.

but most of us will discover it after owning it hahaha... : D

If for me, i will choose the 1st, although no rim no bodykit, this can install later, at least you know the car is not harsh use.. No.2 make sure the condition are ok lo. No.3 Don't go for CSL bumper in 4 door la.. No.4 Maroon for me is out.. Good luck bro.

if you're interested in 320i then let me know....
might consider letting go if the offer is good. :D
