Which e39 to get?

I think those 3 models share common problem la.. no particular problem to one model.. i guess..
Btw im no sifu... just thru my reading n observation..

my e39 2.5 averages about rm1k/month in wear&tear items, excluding the itchybackside items ;) this is not that bad comparing to the rm700/month i used to spend on my old bluebird :D the handling and comfort is bestest :)
 
After every wear n tear items/parts have been replace don't think need to spend extra just minor hear n there...
My engne almost done..
My meter cluster done..
Headlamp done...
Rooflining done...
So basically normal fast moving items need to monitor during daily use...
Fuuhhhh I 'm not a sifu either just a newbie also...

after that.. hmmm when you were at the rims.. you realised the rotors and brake pads about time.. go KL teamco.. get brembo set.. RM600 per pair rotor + RM385 for front pads... + RM50 for lining sensors + 100 for labour..

one day you go convoy with club member to genting sempah.. suddenly aircon not cold.. then found out regulator burns off .. RM300 and since at it.. might want to check the rest of AC...

after one year.. you will have broken seat side panel.. 500 per pair... and then roof lining suddenly come down like broadway.. rm900

all in all.. if you love ur 39.. at present all cars are at least 10 years .. and you will spend 15-20K extra in the first year to do it up..

bro.. i have done 2 39s.. and this is the common expenses.. we all get sucked in.. anyone tell you any less.. just trying to racun you without telling you the absolute truth!

its fun . .its expensive.. but better than orgasm!!

Very comprehensive for e39 ordinary maintenance list bro, I have done most of it except the bbk...

But u missed out 1 thing, which is very popular also... After u collect the car went for service and change to some fresh engine oil... Drive that for about a month, a fine day when u reach home, turn off aircon n HU, n finally, turn the key.. Then "DING", u look at the dashboard..the popular "CHECK ENGINE OIL" came up..
After that, u will start to hear n see this more often and often and toping up engine oil more often...

Time for the valve sealed change.... Might cost few gran for that....

Last but not least, change the GB oil for peace of mind...

Yes you are right bro...
Tat why the servive record is very important so tat we know when is the last service done...
I'm quite lucky cox the owner just change gb fluid n axle oil...
The 1st I did is change engne oil n filter n air filter...

Hi mick123, excluding regular service, wear & tear parts cost 1k/month is a lot money. Is this common to all 525? maybe i should stay away from 525 since it really need a deep pocket

It's still a car that's >10 years old. Hence, wear and tear plus some sort of maintenance is still required/expected. That's the reason why it's best to find a E39 with proper service records which you will know which parts have been replaced, how long they still can last and only focus on certain parts which still yet to be replaced, which can save you some $.
 
Even my 528 averages about that amount. You don't spend every month but every now and then you get a hefty bill.

I would say if you include all cost, including depreciation and loan interest. E39 cost the same as a brand new 1.8l civic. Assuming 5 years ownership. But the driving experience is miles difference. The old one by far more fun. Personally, a make up E39 also looks better too.

In terms of driving experience, it's more fun than the 2.5l Mazda6.
