E39 97yr 520i or 523i ????

Hi Guys,

I also bought the e39 520 , 1997, (ckd) last week. Well it has all the service records. I traded in my V6 which i had used for the past 4 years. Certainly the BM (520) is not as powerful as v6, but can feel the solidness and smoothness comparatively.

Though it has complete service record, expect some usual maintenance issues to come by ( keeping fingers crossed)...

528 fetches a higher consumption n road tax relatively.
2500cc abt RM800/yr 2800cc abt RM1700/yr

Of coz the torque of 528 is higher at 280NM when u floor it.

I know coz i used to own a CBU 98 528i before upgrading to E60 530d with 500Nm - wooohoooo.... with black smoke, thanks to diesel.

99/02 is selling about RM120K (in KL).

99/99 in Penang is selling about RM140K.

According to the PG people, AB will not accept service for recond car. Hence, recond car is average about 20K cheaper.

Any comment?

Anyone know in PG, beside AB, do we have other authorise service center?

Pls advise.

How come such a difference in price for '99 523 in KL and Penang?

This one also don't know, thats why I prefer togo down KL to get cheap and good one!!



However, I still cannot find time to go down ...

Thats is one E46 2002 facelift model in motortrader. Called and the car dealer say price at RM148K. In Penang, the same model at least cost RM155K.

Penang market is a bit strange. Kinda syndicated/monopolised attitude.
Also up there, a lot of money to burn. Ask AB sales dept. they sell more 3's & 5's to private individuals up there then anywhere else in M'sia.. B)

In motortrader, Keong Heng Motor got one 523I 2000 black asking for Rm139K

What you guy think?
