So you're looking to be a god damn free loader I suppose. I think I will forward your suggestion to all other official car clubs and perhaps even to the Rotary Club and The Lions Club. I mean they too dont have a club house what !!!! Why pay the RM600 or what ever it is that these foolish souls pay in order to be part of something.

Christ on a bike..... You're unbelievable !!!

Bro, As a rotarian..I feel " Ouchhhh"...:(

wish the BMW Club Malaysia can be close as BMW Club GB whereby to gather all members are passion with their cars (regardless of age, make and type) and to raise the bar of a car club definition in Malaysia or in the region. BMW Club Thailand can be a close one to follow.

I fully agree. Its about time anyways to make this club what it was really meant to be in the first place.

Salam Bro Azam,

I tried with all might but still couldn't catch your drift! What were you really trying to put across? Perhaps you would want to elaborate the message in simpler English? Pardon me, for the power of my language is not up to mark!

What did you get for your toffel...??? (1 to 1)

Every growing organism grows to maturity, levels off and dies . . . unless there is New Life, New Blood, New Activity!!!

Like I said in another thread....

The thoughts you send out to others will have a far greater impact upon you than upon them. Unlike a material possession, when you release a thought or give it to someone else, it also stays with you. It may remain buried in your subconscious long after your conscious mind has forgotten about it.

Like chickens that return to the coop at night, such thoughts may flash into your consciousness when you least expect them. When your thoughts are positive, you never have to worry about the damage you may do to yourself through negative thinking.

Cheerful, productive, happy thoughts that are buried in your subconscious bring positive results when they recur, and by their presence they encourage the maintenance of a positive attitude in all that you do.

My Turn...

i just wish one thing... unification of the club...

btw, i this election brings back memories of the last election..

the committee that was elected was very eager and did want to be in the team.. now half of them is gone, new faces was brought in till today..
it's sad to know that all the enthusiasm died when one by one left...
Only i see is the committee trying to unite themselves to cooperate within each other..it's hard..

so the my wish, that the new committee is such of a close family with one objection, not many and have a collective consensuses of ONE..

my wish..

3. Tat when we hv events, those that goes/attend act like they are from a club of quality(irregardless of income, we can all act professionals) as we are ambassadors of the brand.

Let me elaborate further. We all want sponsors right? but when we go functions there is no discipline. What would those establishments think of us. Would you sponsor these people to carry your brand? Small things like keeping quiet while speeches and class rooms is a standard practice for example.
.

Bro,
I totally agree with u on this matter :top: :top:

Going back on my thoughts when i decided to join this club as an official member last year, there were basically 3 areas i hoped to be involved in:

1. Lifestyle. Wanted to expand my social circle; make more friends; attend some nice chic events; have a taste of better things in life
2. Increase my technical related knowledge about the car; enhance the ownership experience. Car care clinics; detailing clinics etc
3. Get involved in some sort of community service.

Other members have other reasons to sign up i am sure but i think probably 80% share similarities with 3 of mine above, no?

So almost 1 year on, did i get what i came for? Yes and no. I certainly made more friends, met a bunch of really cool fellas. We had lots of fun along the way. I tried my best to attend as many events but at times it clashed with my work.

What i really hope to see is the number of official members increase 5 folds in 1 year. To have 1000 members out of say, 10,000 bmw owners, it should not be a problem.

Where to scout for members? More meaningful exclusive events can be planned and at the same time, made known to the forum, we need to sell the benefits to these potential members, this then will pull more people in to become official members.
Not many will sign up and wait for things to happen. Most will do it the other way round. We need to show people what’s in store. 150 is not that expensive for many but, most will want to have the feeling they are getting their money’s worth.

Outside the forum, efforts should also be made to sign members. The f1 pit lounge was a golden opportunity to do so. Could we also leave the club brochures / application forms at some outlets probably frequented by possible BMW owners?

Imagine 1 day this club's membership is so exclusive that it is by invitation only. Possible? I dream of that day

There are many other things we can leverage on once we have the number.
-AB and SA probably will start to offer better discounts to the members for services. No? If you pay for about the same for regular service in authorised dealers, would it be better than the 'specialists' outside?
-we can tie up with hotels, restaurants in the similar manner with lifestyle cards like enrich/starwoods.
-get special privileges / discounts to hip events like f1; performing arts etc.

Just to share some of my thought. I have no intention to run for committee, my time does not allow me to.

Nevertheless, i do hope this club soar to the level of this prestigious brand we are associated with.

cheers

Good points THsaw.... Indeed this would be ideal and its not an impossible dream. For a start I hope the right administration will be in place after the next election. An administration filled with people with respect, honour, fairness...basically the apt to govern. Iam gonna choose wisely, I hope everyone here does too... Ilove the club too much to see it fail, If I had a second chance I would do everything I can to make it the ideal car club, but sadly I cant take the second chance even if its presented to me due to work. I hope the new guys will steers the club to greater heights.

Well said bro.

Its not difficult to have 1000 members. But I would rather have say 300 committed and passionate members that share common goals and interest instead. As an exclusive club we should go for quality rather than quantity.

Of course before we want to be regarded as an exclusive club, we have to put the proper system in place first. I am sure some of us here could recruit more members to join and like you said setting up booths during official BMW events to promote the club. Its very possible, but what does the club have to offer these members??

I believe once we have a proper system in place, forumers and fence sitters will sign up in droves. Together, with everyone's passion and commitment, there is no doubt we will get there soon.

Cheers!:top:

Albundy,

I think with your vision, you will make a good leader.

Please consider the post for president..

You have my support and vote.
