328 good...but I will definite go for the GT once it is available here..

Wow, all good remarks except for bro Seenotype,...I feel for you.
Maybe you can try to enjoy it and feel the pleasure of your f30, perhaps you may discover what you are looking for...
By the way, f30 is a UDM!!!!

Wow... so much of mixed feelings here. But I like that majority of you are standing by you decisions.

Am planning to upgrade to the F30 myself. I am keen on the 320d with the sports package. Am sure BMW would have ironed out all the issues with the initial batches but how about the engine and performance.

Any 320d owners here can share what to look out for? Thanks in advance.

Also read here that the 320d M-Sport will be out soon. Maybe I will wait it out and see :)

Please do consider the quality issue of our diesel fuel and the ongoing govt policy on increasing the content of biodiesel before you make the final decision on the 320d.

''splee'' why worry about biodiesel fuel in malaysia ..

BMW Diesel engine can take max B7. We are at B5 now and Govt is trying to introduce B10 to push up the price of palm oil.

I believe that was a post at paultan mentioning that BMW is able to support up to B10

[We managed to ask BMW Malaysia about this matter, and it said that the 10% in B10 is too small to have any significant effect. The company says it has carried out tests and its cars work fine up to B13 (which is a blend of 13% biodiesel and 87% petroleum diesel). The reason that B7 is written on the fuel cap is that in most markets overseas, the biodiesel only goes up to a B7 blend.]

http://paultan.org/2013/02/08/b10-biodiesel-pilot-programme-starts-to-be-launched-nationwide-when-b10-standard-is-established/

With that being said, my primary issue with Diesel, is that it is noisy as hell . Petrol for life ! (ActiveyHybrid 3, when i can afford it)

BMW don't write B7 on the fuel cap for no reason. That's the maximum bio diesel content that the engine is designed to take. If you ask the BMW engineer, they will say B7 max. If you ask BMW marketing, of course they will say blah blah blah their Diesel engine is very advance blah blah blah and can take more than B7 blah blah blah. Who do you think you can trust

of couse i will trust engineer more than marketing guy , but the point is whether any bmw official engineer ever say B7 is max!!!

It's been too many problems associated with the new f30, namely rusted seat, wind noise etc...most of it were proven and like most of the bros here, still we are proud to have this "babe" in our car porch,...the question is why?
Let me start the first to answer,...dun know why but kinda give me a smile every time I see "her" in the morning,...:top:

Any other thought?

5 months since I took my white/sport/black interior f30 320i home - and still loving it! :). There are few things that I like about the car as follows:-

1. Price and brand wise - it is comparable to other continental models and yet it's name/brand excudes the pride of engineering and design quality that are well accepted or sought after imho.

2. The design of f30's exterior - is something extra ordaniary i think. I am still having some difficulties justifying to myself if I should change the look, i.e. if i shoudl replace the bumpers or add on extra skirting, etc. The only thing that I am thinking of changing now perhaps having that m-sport brake pad or getting bigger wheels. So, the car's look is very cool imho and that's what I like.

3. Interior wise - 320i is the lesser of the series, a disappointment was on the absence of the GPS system and small screen. As time flies I came to accept this little handicap as based on my 3 Singapore trips so far, my old Garmin GPS still works fine. Apart from navigating in places like Spore, Cheras or Pandan (I am pretty much a peejay boy) and some places which I seldom visit..the Garmin thingy is pretty much kept in the compartment. As a result it is not a real loss to me. On the bigger screen -yes, the bigger one in 328i is surely a lot cooler and what more some owners say even can watch movie...I can appreciate that but my usage is pretty simple - mp3 via usb & handfree hp...so, it is enough for me. But any of you guys not realising there is built a sun shade at the real screen? Well I didn't at first..silly me, I thought that was a pleasant surprise though.

4. The sheer driving pleasure - for 320i with 7.3 sec to 100km/hr, isn't so bad on normal road imho. It is not the fastest car but fast enough if you try ramming the pedal at midnight - no, i don't advocate speeding after that TT sessions hehehe, but speed isn't everything to me, it is the feel of the car, the thick steering and the the engine that is able to respond, that count. Maybe a little bit of exhaust sound...perhaps my next endavour..

To sum up imho it is the bmw feeling that what makes the difference - cheers mate!
