I think I found the source of the leak.

Fill the radiator until overflowing. Close the radiator cap. start the engine and wait for to warm up. when the engine was warm up, I rev the engine till the rpm reaches 4000 rpm. did it a few time and check for the leak.

saw some water droplet around the expansion tank.

BMWs have a self bleed system. When you fill your expansion tank to the brim and start your car, when the car warms up water will over flow out from the cap. That is very normal. If you change to a new cap you will gat the same results even if you have an entire complete new cooling system. IMO the culprit is a leaking heater core and/or a failed heater valve.

So to be exact, we only need to fill in the water till the max line?

HI BRO ,Mr Jarance mention that the water level got lower that means there should be a minor leak somewhere. if we keep on refilling .how is if the head gasket burn that might also cause for the water to overflow out from the expansion cap.

took my car out for a drive yesterday. This morning check the water level and found that the orange stick still float up at high level. mmmm... need to monitore for a few more days before can confirm the leak have been solved.

note: I used to top up about 1 liter of water every 100 KM. Now have traveled 200 KM and still did not need any top up..

This is what a leaking heater Coil looks like notice the coolant on the unit. These are the leaks that are not visible from the outside. It is underneath the dashboard.

I hope my problem is NOT related to this. Look like a massive job to replace it. :motz:

If it ever happen to me, I will bypass it to save the trouble and money.. :listen:

I discovered when i was changing my Cooling coil. It sits underneath the AC cooling coil. I wanted to by pass but after some research I discovered that if you by pass the AC will be too cold. some one did it by opt to undo the bypass.
