RM18.5k is really expensive, about RM11k more than the US price.... I wonder if there's anyone in M'sia or Singapore that brings them in at decent prices so we can go and have them installed. - This applies to the Performance intake, steering wheel, brakes, strut brace, etc. as well. I guess we have to do some research and price checking.

I have checked on my system. The SPORTS BRAKE RETROFIT KIT BMW PERFORMANCE 34110444769 will direct fit for E90 / E92 / E93 325i and 330i, price only RM12800.00

For the wheel clearance it will all depends on what wheel you are using.

Maybe we can do a group buy thing from folks like Calvin, Stuttgart etc.. Since its OEM parts you can get them installed at Ingress. Brake kit install charges is RM450, intake RM150. Didn't ask about steering wheel, brace etc tho.

bro traveller...

the RM18.5k price is already inclusive of the shipping charges, import tax & sales tax.

to have a fair comparison, the USD2200 price is approx RM8050 then shipping is about RM1500 estimated via FedEx then customs tax of 30% for import duty and 10% for sales tax...this totally could come up to about estimated price of RM13650.00

now the diff is by not much...:top:

Yeah not much.. just 35% (or RM4,850) profit margin on top of the cost as per your calculations :)

It's still a substantial difference. Right now, I'm trying to see if I can source some smaller items elsewhere (like the Performance steering wheel), since I travel quite a bit. I could look at buying it there, and just bringing it back with me by air (but must fit in my luggage) and pay the install cost over here.

well if you look at every figure then even a 10% is too much for consumer to 'think' they pay extra...when i say it is by not much i was writing in reply to your comparison of 11k margin vs 4.8k margin that i calculated...

one question though, what is a more 'fair' margin for service centre like Ingress & AB should make when they spend millions on the facility itself and backs the product they sell with warranty comparing the the 3rd party service provider? Please remember that they do not make money from volume selling as there is just isn't so many BMW owner out there compares to makes like Toyota or Perodua. So a 35% margin is a margin they think they can survive on and make some profit for the shareholders benefits, then it is their rights, right?. Same goes for your company who needs to make sufficient margin to survive and at the same time make profits for investments and benefiits to its shareholder...

I am not advocating to forummer here to buy from AB or Ingress but each business offers their own benefits to customer and it is up to the customer himself/herself to choose if they would like to buy from them or not...

Thats why group buys are the best. Orders only placed on demand and confirmation, no holding of stock, then its just raw margin for the transaction. Larger corporates have guidelines for margins, so group buys are flexible, meaning, buyers shop for the best price from the supplier then order. To the guy doing the fulfilment, its just the matter of how much he/she wants to make for the hassle of placing the order and its a willing buyer/seller thing at the end. We've seen it work quite well here for stuff like M Body kits etc, where our group buys were one of the best bargains u can get out there, undercutting a lot of other retail shops.

This concept has a strong momentum globally now, whereby dedicated purchase consultants will negotiate for volume purchases at special volume pricing of common products for smaller group of buyers and take a cut from the entire deal. In our case, there is no commission/cut for the deals organized, and everyone just enjoys the lowest price :)

So the original CBU E90 floormats were awesome, lightweight, non slip, well made and reeks of quality. Unfortunately for me, it came in the wrong color (beige to match interior) which was impossible to keep clean. So I bought locally made E90 floor mats from AB for RM140 about 1+ year back (original CBU ones were Rm800), and after 1+ years, it started to wear down and looked like it was gonna have holes where the driver heel was. It also started to slipped around the driver footwell quite a bit. This time I opted for ///M floor mats in black. Got them off Calvin Tan and am happy with it. Look much better as they are pure jet black unlike the local AB ones which were just dark grey. Also much better quality than the local ones.

I floor mats will be a problem for guys with beige and grey interior as we need black/dark ones to make maintenance easy.

Saw this in Freddie's car, and initially I tot its a orig M3 steering. What he did was to rewrap a std steering with the Nappa leather wrap and M blue and white stitches and change the faceplate to the clefted M logo plate (original part). Total damage is ~Rm600 (wrap) + ~Rm400 for plate = ~Rm1,000k. I couldn't tell the difference LOL. Ori swap is ~Rm3k

Yeah your original M sport ones look similar to the M3 steering. Only difference is the M3 steering gets ticker nappa leather grip, no perforated holes around the steering grip, red and blue stitching on the leather and the clefted M logo on the faceplate (M sport steering the M logo is not clefted in and doesn't indent inwards)

Also, my carpet are just the normal ones.. no M logo there... did I get cheated or M Spoirts does not come with M floor mats

Dear racheltoh

You are not being cheated. M floor mats are an after market product. BMW never made any floormat with ///M logo.

Went for lunch with JPB around Tmn Mayang area and while we were there, visited Eddie the boss at Stuttgart and negotiated for the price of the following items:

1) Orig BMW Performance Full Brake System (Front 6 pot and Rear 2 pot. Made by Brembo)
2) Orig BMW Performance Intake System

Total price quoted is ~RM10k which is an unbelievable deal. I paid a deposit to lock down the price for the 2 items above. Only downside is ETA via sea freight is March 2009. But I don't mind waiting to save a few grand on the 2 items above heh. Good things come to those who wait..

Any others interested? The order is going into the container soon, so if there are other parts such as steering wheel, CF strut brace etc, can order in time.

Ohhhh. that sounds sweet. So the brake system is as per the Performance set (Front only) + Brembo (rear)?
How do I contact Eddie? There goes my savings......

Its the complete BMW Performance Brake System which is front and rear axle. The caliper pistons are made by Brembo for both front and rear. BMW OEMs from them. You can visit Eddie in Stuttgart Tmn Mayang, but he's heading to Perth end of the week. Let him know you are from the club and ask for the same level of discounts. If you want the steering wheel or other parts, print out the part no and get him to do a price lookup for you.
