sorry if i sounded rude. no offfense. what i meant is that if ur paying for something cheap, usually u wont get the same quality as the original. makes sense doesnt it? also, i would advise against buying replicas for something as critical as rims, for safety and performance sake. ur fuel consumption would suffer cos the rims will be heavier. if ur unlucky, not safe too.
just my opinion.

guys, i've visit the tyre shop at taipan there and i see some cheap BMW rims, and i ask the people there why izzit so cheap. they said it was made in taiwan. Sure its cheaper at RM2.9k, compare the same rim i see at AB price about RM4.5k. Made in china, of course la the material is different. but im term of quality, strength, lightness, izzit the same as the ori one? think of changing the ori M rim on my 325. hurm...

p/s: i juz love kl-putrajaya highway... juz like autobahn in germany. heheheh...

bro if u like speed, just go for original rims & good tires...the few k in savings is not worth the risk of having a wheel failure at high speeds.

btw if u like the kl-putrajaya hw u'll surely like the new LEKAS from Semenyih to Nilai. its 15km stretch of toll free (until oct 4), 3 lanes, straight, flat & car-less road! by far the best i've seen in the world, even better than the autobahn...

hey peeps!... i have a cbu 325i e90... just want some tips and knowledge on how n where to get the standard mods of lowering and rims the beginners mods... you know.. n by the way i would prefer the mods to be done in jb... thanx ya'll :D

Got racun-ed by the Ingress Auto Raya open house...

Saw too many nice things I can add to my ride...

BMW Performance CF Strut Brace
BMW Performance Brake System
BMW Performance Air Intake System
BMW Performance Steering Wheel with integrated electronics (wonder if these come with paddle shifters)

And while I am at it, maybe add this as well:
Aluminum pedals
iPod interface (especially if I can find a workaround to get the CD-changer to work with the iPod, or a switch to alternate between the two)

A few bros here mentioned getting the mods done in Singapore for better pricing. Anyone know who I can contact to ask for prices and further info? Especially since it appears our taxation system is jacking the prices up a lot (UK prices including VAT for one of the items I listed above is about half of what it costs).

Traveller, if you install the Ipod interface, then your cd/radio wont work anymore......

Alternatively, you can get an auxiliary jack (input) (your should find this at thehand rest cover) to USB ..

yoke kindly gave me a link to Dension who appears to have a solution that would allow the use of both the iPod and CD-changer, with possibly additional options like USB-based thumbdrives/HDs. I will try to find out more about this.

This is the link to the Dension product that their website says is compatible with E90s with Nav/Professional/iDrive.

Hey guys. Came across the BMW Performance catalog at Ingress today during my BSRI service. The intake system looks like a good mod and should be much better than the K&N drop in some of us tried as it has been designed for additional 3 hp increase with better torque as well. Its also a full intake system not just a filter. Check it out..

----
BMW Performance Air Intake System

Getting everything your engine has to give.

The BMW Performance Air Intake System captures all the air your engine can possibly use, then introduces it as evenly as the engine can possibly use it, in the highest possible density. It generates more complete and more explosive combustion-and a fuller expression of your engine's sheer power and torque.

This dynamic breathing system was developed with computer simulations that revealed the optional size, shape, number and position of pathways that not only allow, but actually inspire the most unrestrained flow of fresh air.

The end result is a vehicle that responds to throttle inputs more robustly, and accelerates more energetically. It is not a coincidence that the innovative BMW Performance Air Intake System even makes your BMW sound faster.

Upgrading to a BMW Performance air intake system will unleash gains in horsepower and torque for your 3 Series, while also helping an engine to operate more efficiently with reduced pressure drop and increased overall performance-up to 3 hp at 6000 RPM. (PN: 13 72 0 444 751)

BMW Malaysia is packing the Performance Intake together with some pretty lovely looking yellow caliper 6 pot + cross drilled rotors BMW Performance brake system for a total package price of RM12k Worth it?

BMW Performance Brake Kits

Brake with authority. Drive with confidence.

When a vehicle is built for high-performance driving, it's expected that high speeds and sporty maneuvers may require urgent deceleration. And only BMW knows how to stop its vehicles as well as it knows how to get them moving.

BMW Performance Brake Kits consist of slotted and cross-drilled front rotors and large fixed calipers. Designed for the 18'' alloy wheel, these braking systems effectively dissipate heat as well as water build-up between rotors and pads, and provide the muscular stopping power that you will need.

E46f, I am looking at those BMW Performance kits too. Am especially interested in the Air Intake System, Brakes, CF Strut Brace and the sport steering wheel.

Wow your car will look killer with these mods. I am trying to find out if the package price for the intake + brakes includes rear brake kit as well or just front axle. The Performance steering wheel is very nifty, but I like the M DCT one better in terms of feel. The Performance steering wheel has got more gizmos, with shift indicator and lap timing electronics. Since its still covered warranty when we slap on BMW performance parts, does that mean BMW encourages us to time our "laps" using the steering wheel on the track? Can't be for street use rite

E46f, I have asked someone at SA regarding the brakes (front only or front+rear).

I am a gadget-freak so the Performance steering wheel naturally is a major attraction for me. I admit I am not as keen on the feel of the steering wheel, probably the Alcantara leather, as I do like the M steering wheel in the 325i Sports.

Do you know if we can fit the M gauges into our E90s? I saw the pics posted of the M3's dash, and those white rings on the M3 gauges look amazing.

if it is for the full package, with or without the intake, 12k is a bargain!

No reply yet. I just shot off the email this morning. Will let you guys know when I get a reply.

Been busy/out of town this past week, but here's the reply from Sapura Auto.

Performance Brake System + Air Intake System:
The brakes for the package which includes the Performance Air Intake System is only for the front axle of the E90. A 6-piston caliper, perforated and slotted disc rotors and high performance pads are included. With this brake system installed, brake moderation will be increased drastically, braking will be more consistent and also impressive resistance to brake overheating. The kit also reduces unsprung mass, which will most definitely improve the car's handling characteristics.

Performance Steering Wheel:
The price for the BMW Performance Steering Wheel will be around 6,965.00 depending on if your car is equipped with Steptronic and multifunction buttons on the steering wheel. Some features of the Performance Steering are
- Stop Watch
- Quarter Mile time with stoplight start
- Lateral and forward acceleration (G-force meter)
- Engine and oil temperature displays
- Gearshift display

With the alcantara grip panels and the information feedback as well as the gearshift indicator, your drive will DEFINITELY become more refined and enjoyable.
