I got mine done for RM1,600-00 but this is a favor from a workshop I went to for other stuff. I think if you can get it for RM1,700 or less, it's already very good rate.

Hey BMR,
Whats the difference between Vkool and HuberOptic ? Roughly what did you end up paying (so i dont get stiffed)....

CobraKai, you tinted the back windows darker than the front. Whats the percentage like ?

Thanks

i cldnt really tell much diffrence n i'm sorry i cant recall the price as it was 2 years ago bt i do remember it was a bit cheaper..i'll see if i can find the invoice..

I'm a little confused with the tinting bit though, isn't the original windows on the e90 factory tinted?

I've also inquired around about the different tinting films available in the market. Has anyone ever came across a film marketed as "Extreme" ? apparently it's brought in by Vkool Malaysia and has heat rejecting properties as well as being a security film unlike Llumar which really is a security film (so I was told)

let's see some pics David...how blue is it? Any problems with illumination/night time driving?

My personal preference, I like the 8,000k bulbs. It is not so blueish. Just right for me. No problem with illumination/night time driving. I have used to to in all my previous rides and my other current ride. In fact I find it is much brighter as compared to original factory fitted 4,350k. Will post pictures when I have the chance.

Guys, mine is with the V-Kool elite for the front and the rest are on V-Kool S40 (Super-Kool 40). It's exactly the same like Cobra Kai. Honestly I strongly recommend this as you will never regret in terms of heat rejection, infra rejection, light rejection and the look too :).

There is a shop in Jalan Kuchai Lama (opposite the KFC) that can do V-Kool elite at RM 1,700 and V-kool S40 at RM 2,000. They are doing a lot for both continental & japanese club. Most of JSOC (Japan Sportcars Owner Club) members are doing it at this shop. I have just recently did on my wife's car.

Actually apart from getting good pricing for tinted film, it is very important to make sure the workmanship is good.

Bimmer910, let me know if you are interested and I can bring you to that shop. I am quite close with them :)

Completely agree w DY. Make sure you go to an installer that is really experienced and will do a good job. A bad tint job is really a pain in the you now where.

Pricing wise it's around there RM 1600 - 1700 for elite and RM 2000 for V40. I believe that V40 will not pass our so call JPJ test, but it really makes the car cooler and looks good too. (I wished I had done V40 for sides and rear)

I think the E90 is only tinted at the front windscreen only (in Msia it's only on the 330, 325 and 320SE models only) and not the rest. Anyone can confirm this?

Yea the 6 pots and the 320i SE have the BMW Comfort glass option for the front windscreen which is purplish in color and I think looks pretty good. My car is V-Kool elite all round done at VKool center in PJ and with a beige interior, it looks very light and see through unlike if you have a black interior. I would very much have preferred S40 due to the deeper richer look and better heat rejection, but too "chicken" to have to deal with JPJ if they stage crackdowns.

VKool Elite on normal glass is still not as effective compared if its layered on heat rejection glass. My wife's Japan CBU Jazz Vtec comes with the Honda Asahi greenish tint heat rejection glass and with VKool elite over it, it's really much cooler than the E90 and my ex-E46. Also looks better heh. I was told by Vkool center that its still legal as the OEM heat rejection glass is only mildly tinted and within JPJ's thresholds with VKool Elite.

MTech Body Kit Bits

Guys..

For those of you who have the MTech kit on already i need some pointers..
I noticed that there are 2 bits of rubber guards on the bottom of the front bumper..
can you tell me which way it should be?
I've taken off the second bit on one side as a comparison..

Red arrow shows second piece of rubber

Without second piece

If I remember right, there is no additional rubber behind the M Kit deflectors. The M kit should have come with new wheel housing covers part no# 51718040101 (Left) and 51718040102 (right) which will rid the original non M rubber bits I think. I doublechecked with them to make sure that all bits come with the kit, and the gave me a printout of the parts which come with it. Its 1 page full of parts... Hoping the installer got it all right and put it all in for you!

Anway, looking for Rimsukan and CK to chip in :)

Thxs E46F,
I think the second rubber bit at the back is the ori rubber guard n could be that the installer didnt take them off..
I have since removed them anyway myself cuz it seems redundant n doesn't look right..

Hey guys,
Thanks for the info. Will get the tint done this weekend. The s40 is somewhat darker than the Elite, but with Beige interior, perhaps it wont be so noticeable as you'll be able to see the car seats without a problem.

I've found a tint shop in Kelana Jaya which specializes in high end ICE + tint and theyre around the 1900 mark for the combo (s40+s70) So spot on with this pricing.

Thanks a bunch guys !

Hi bimmer910, mind sharing with us where exactly is this shop in Kelana Jaya? I might be interested to tint my car too

hey rookie,
How was your trip abroad ? Hope you'll come for the next meet. Always good to have another 320er there :)

The shop's located just off ss5/1 right next to the Everco exhaust place, opp block from Syeds and block behind 7-Eleven. Hope thats clear enough :)
That whole area is full of workshops. There is a continental car Aircon specialist on the same block as well - owned by Kevin, who my family regularly uses.

If youre up for it, PM me your tel no, so we can go together. Im sure we'll get better rates.

Cheers.

Hi Bimmer910, having meetings up to 11pm on weekdays, and working over weekends is definitely not something I look forward to :(

Not sure where is the place. Are there any prominent landmarks? I am definitely considering it but not this weekend as I have to travel again over the weekend.

So far haven't had a chance to go for a long drive yet. Will have a chance this weekend, providing a field report after that...

But driving around town yesterday, I must say that there was virtually no difference in ride quality compared with stock.

OK time for the long overdue report on the Eibach Pro-Kits.

Drived down south to SIN last weekend from Melaka. At speeds below 80 km/h (i.e. town driving), the ride is not much different from stock. However at speeds above that it feels a little more bouncy. On the NS highway, there is this stretch of not-so-even road between the Tangkak and Pagoh exits, this is where the bounciness becomes more obvious. The rest of the journey i was doing about 150 - 200 km/h, but no major complains. Good thing is there seems to be a little less body roll during corners.

All in all, I'm not a fussy guy when it comes to ride quality, most importantly the drop looks good and I'm satisfied :top:

Eagerly waiting for the M-Tech kit, Blacklines and the shark fin

Nope I got my Pro-Kit in Melaka, RM1300 incl. installation. Only about RM100 extra compared to KL/PJ so didn't think it was worth to make a trip there.

I drove down to Singapore last weekend for a visit.

oic....

a friend in Singapore got Pro-kit at first, but not satisfied after sometime due to lack of comfort, he added the Koni FSD shocks. Then he claimed comfort level back to stock. you might wanna check out the Koni FSD shocks for E90.

Hehe... my $$$ is reserved for the M-Tech kit + Blacklines for the moment. For me, the ride is still ok on with the Eibach + stock shocks. So will probably only consider changing them after they are worn out.
