It's an Italian apple compared to 2 German and 1 Japanese apple. Let's keep this thread pure and stick to e90 mods. Open up a new thread on that group comparo, and will be delighted to partake. Apology for adulterating this thread with my input. BTW, I'm a hardcore Bimmer fan and owner.

The Fiat Couple 20 VT is fast but not that fast la in stock form. I remember a few years back my buddy's modded Civic EG6 took out a heavily modded Fiat coupe 20VT in a drag. Man the Auto Italia guys weren't happy at all LOL. I've also run with a couple of them during my EK4 Dohc vtec days. 1.6 ltr NA vs 2.0 ltr turbo and the results weren't that dissapointing. Anyway yeah we can compare till the cows come home. Its known that our 325i's aren't in fast car category. We'll need at min a 335i to play there.

Aiyaa... you all have speed limiter la.. remove them and test out the real potential la. I hear CTR if limiter removed, can do 280kph while the GTI can do easily 260kph. Really the cow can come home wan.. make sure your tyre speed rating can cope. I know my MPV tyre "H" rating can only hit 180kph max, after which I am risking driving the wheels off..

I personally believe the main culprit causing E90 325 to be slow off the line, is really the DSC system. Therefore trying to compete off the toll is not really accurate as your DSC would definitely slow you down a lot, unless you have it off quickly.

I read once before that BMW DSC is one of the most conservative traction control system, which means super safe!

BMW Performance Exhaust System

Turn your power loose.

Like a world-class athlete, your BMW's engine needs increasingly more oxygen as it reaches its physical limit.

To accommodate this need, BMW engineers looked to the other end of the vehicle, namely the exhaust system. The very act of controlling exhaust gases—to reduce noise and heat—restricts their exit. And overcoming this restriction, or back pressure, forces the engine to work harder, using its energy for something besides moving you forward.

Enter the BMW Performance Exhaust System. This solution produces an outflow of exhaust gases that is so free (though still under control) that it markedly reduces back pressure. The flow is free enough, in fact, to actually pull more air into the engine. So while it's saving power at one end, it's increasing power at the other. RPM performance is heightened and engine performance is increased by up to 5hp and 3 ft-lbs of torque at 6600 RPM.

The result is that your engine runs more smoothly, revs higher, and accelerates faster. And its new, deep, racing growl will be music to your high-performance-attuned ears.

Wah Kevin's titanium exhaust is sweet! JPB, lets do a test once your new exhaust goes in. BTW, thinking of going to Sepang on the private track day thingy being organized. Wanna go? Have yet to take the E90 in and I think its gonna be fun. Just that have to take off work to go.

That would be fun actually but on my rather standard M-Sports set-up, I think I won't be able to handle corners as well as you guys on KW V2s and also my GY against PS2s. Do it when my exhaust arrives lor or else how do I make up for the 25 bhp deficiency? Oh yeah, that reminds me, Fred... ECU remap how?

someone took the plunge for the beautiful 'sound' oredi?

Yup, after months of tossing and turning in bed, yakking to E46F about it till his ears turn red, reading the rave reviews in E90post.com etc.. and oh, that was that M3 which blasted its way past Penchala link where my bedroom window faces, oh the sweet sweet sound. Don't think my E92 will sound like an M3 in the end but this will do for now.

No need to go for lap times la. We can do brisk to sprited laps around sepang. No need to push the car to the limits. A lot more punishment on brakes, tyres, cooling etc when you do. Just have fun. So how anyone else interested?

Nah lah. That one too fierce. On a 323i, it's just too wannabe. I have opted for BMW Performance (US version) from Obermaier.

MeinAuto's exhaust sounds real tight! Kevin you going to join the private Sepang track day on Aug 10? The track is your car's home play ground :).
