I would also like to have a remap too...please share!

Really damn it, can't make it to the track day.

So guy, when can we have a casual meet up?

Vorsteiner quad exhaust... looks good

Saw this Vorsteiner Titanium Exhaust at Bimmian.

Claims to give peak HP gain of 14hp and peak torque gain of about 17.9Nm while saving 16.8kg of weight vs OEM exhaust. I suppose you would have to pair it with the Vorsteiner diffuser.

Looks darn good I have to say.

I have just been told that Hiop Racetec's ECU remap for 323i brings up power from 190 bhp to 214 bhp which is fine by me. It's better than Upsolute's offering of 204 bhp. Anyways, I am yet to do it so will have to provide y'all feedback later.

E90-1000, the remap for 325i should increase the horses from 218 bhp to 231 bhp. I'm doing it at Obermaier.

So JP, thanks for the numbers. Do share with me when you have done it. See if the difference is significant!

By the way JP, is yours a year 2009 manufactured BMW? If yes, does your car comes along with the seat belt sensor for the front passenger?

E90-3100, no worries man. It's my turn being the guinea pig having relied on E46F to take the plunge earlier. BeemerS3 was also on the phone with me last night to find out more. I'm scheduled to follow-up with Fred on a few things today and will take the opportunity to check out more details.

My E92 is a 2007 car which I think come with the sensor.

Looks expensive, I wonder how much. Heard one of our members paid RM40+k for this titanium exhaust on his E92. *gulp*

I was at Fred's place last week and saw an M3 fitting a full titanum pipe...costing about RM27k+
Still a hurtful amount!

Ummm, makes me feel better about my BMW Performance exhaust which is a fraction of that, hahahaha...

Yup, it is definitely worth it with the original performance exhaust. So far the exhaust treating you well?

Mine has been...so far so good!

I haven't installed yet bro, will do so next week, but glad to hear yours is doing you good. How long do you think it took to "break-in"? I'm a bit concerned on the sound though i.e. will it drown out the music or disrupt conversations in the car etc. What's your thoughts?

I think you can feel the break in after about 1000KM.

I first installed both the BMW performance resonator and silencer, which it comes in a set. I felt the sound of droning is too loud for cruising speed (2000 to 3000 RPM range), though spirited driving is good. There is also not much low end torque but highend torque is good.

Then last week I went back to Fred's place and have the BMW performance resonator replaced with the stock BMW resonator. This combination is great! Good and better low end torque, quiet and smoother. Only on spirited driving you can hear the exhaust sound from the inside.

I believe European spec cars like ours is only good with the BMW performance silencer and not the whole exhaust set, which is meant for the US market. Maybe because our engine doesn't produce enough low end torque to support too much of a free flow exhaust!

Thanks for your feed back.

But, I find the solution pretty strange i.e. the part about maybe the engine doesn't produce enough low end torque to benefit from a freer flow exhaust. Maybe, I'm missing something on my physics 101. E46F, heeeeeelp! By right, the improved air flow which comes with bmw performance should permeate throughout the rev range via improved throttle response. The deficiency you pointed out may apply to forced induction but it shouldn't with an aftermarket exhaust with freer air flow.

Anyway, I guess I just have to take the plunge and try it for myself.

BTW, can I ask what's the mileage on your car now? The reason is, if your car is very new i.e. below 10,000 kms, it's still a tight engine and prone to feeling a bit different every day. From my own experience with the E46 and E92 which I bought spanking new, consistent engine performance tends to come in only after 10,000 kms.

Do try it out with the whole set and let me know your thoughts on it ya! Probably as you say, it is right that my engine is still "tight"

Thats why your ICE is the next upgrade. You need to crank those tunes up after the exhaust loud-grade....

bwahaha - its a neverending cycle once you start....

From what I understand, the are two key reasons why Performance parts for US and European cars differ. In the US, emissions, especially in Cali is key while in Europe, eg, Germany, noise pollution is a critical consideration. If not for the noise issues in Europe, the exhaust would similar to the US version. Similarly for the intake in the US....would have been exactly the same as the European version if not for stricter emissions

bro,
so which means you now have the Performance Exhaust muffler fitted with the rest stock? (since you switched back to the OEM resonator)

i would like to hear this setup (Performance muffler only)! Could you post up a clip of the exhaust note to share with us, me also itchy..i dont want too loud..

thanks

JPB waiting for your review and pics from your latest performance exhaust mod! Can't wait. When are we going racing?? :D
