Exhaust fitted

Hi Guys, just got back from Fred's place. Exhaust installed! Less then an hour's job!

Loud from the outside but solid from the inside!

;-)

Delicious supper?

Hi Guys, did a run with my neighbour's Civic Type R and suprisingly, my E90 LCI had it for supper.

Whole car length!

Congrats.....and very ball-sy with a car that has less than 1000kms :)

Having driven with the intake only and now with both the intake and exhaust, do you feel any difference in performance?

hahaha, just hit 1000KM before actually doing this. Can't wait to get pass this dreadful period!

Normal driving, seems not much power but can feel a sudden surge of torque after 2750RPM. Power from 4000 above gets noticeably better and revs much smoother / quicker.

This is in comparison with the feel I get when I was driving an E90 pre LCI 325.

Was it from standstill or on a roll? I ran with a new Type R before on the NKVE on the way to Singapore. Only overtook him after 180 km/h.

It was on standstill. 1st and 2nd gear very close, only on third that can overtake the whole car.

It was a mutual challenge since there has been many hype about the civic type R. Next I would like to try with a Golf GTi....

Not bad at all. The Civic Type R has slightly more HP than the stock 325i and is much lighter and mated with a stick shift compared to the autobox. On paper it should have easilly taken you from a standstill. Something like ~6seconds 0-100km/h. Our cars are pulling high 7's. Unless the BMW performance stuff is way underrated :)

Oh, how I would like to believe that the BMW Performance stuff is way underrated. It could very well be the case judging how conservative the Germans are with the numbers. If so, this makes the case for getting the sports exhaust much stronger. So how?

I think the main issue with Type R is the lack of torque and it can only achieve full torque at 6100RPM. So it losses out.

On another point, if the driver not able to switch gears quickly, then the autobox will definitely be quicker than manual.

I find that it is hard to believe that a CTR will lose to E90 325i. My experience with one at one of the toll gate was the CTR just out accelerated me. Although I was able to keep pace but he was faster

I thot so too but some of us already know for a fact the bmw performance air intake does provide better acceleration all round and this fella has not added the bmw performance exhaust which aids air flow even further in tandem with the intake. I won't underestimate what these mods can do to the E90 325i judging from my own experience with the intake. Hard to take my word for it I know, but don't shoot me just yet, try for yourself. E46F, right or not?

I once tested with a Golf GTi at a toll gate and it manage to jump in front about 2 cars length up to 4th gear. I was in DS mode. I realise that after 180kmh i was closing up to its tail lights but then trafic slowed us down.

Not quite the forum to compare performances but the Fiat Coupe 20 VT will blow away comparable cars in the 325i, CTR, Gti...easily...in stock or mod form....
