hehe... now already upgraded into dtm front spoiler... much more lowered then this...
i have no catching bump issue since my front lips adjustable and plus have a quick relaese lolx... custom made the bracket :)

Would be a nice project to do as m52s are cheap because the gains you are achieving are off the charts!! You probably have the highest horsepower for a naturally aspirated m52 in the world as well as the only 3.5l m52 that i know of! :13:

My S50B32 only does 5.2 secs, you should be achieving some nice hp numbers, probably around the 350+ mark! Especially so this being an Automatic (as far as I can see in the pics). Making up for the slushbox i would think you are hitting really high numbers. Have you done any modifications to the torque convertor? I would think that the stock slushbox would struggle to hold such high numbers repeatedly. What kind of differential are you running to get 5 seconds? Gearing?

What crank are you using, rods, pistons, bore? Having such a large displacement increase would require the bore to be at its absolute maximum.

Custom rods and pistons? Maximum bore i know is 86-87mm that is safe depending on how long your engine is required to last. Probably what you are running then? Whats your piston compression height to achieve the huge stroke needed without your pistons hitting the head?

I am thinking you are using a custom crank as you would need a seriously long stroke to gain that kind of displacement. The only compatible crank i can think of is the M54B30 crank with some modifications for it to fit, but even that has a stroke of 89.6 and that is far from enough to get you 3.5l. Because the stroke you need is so high due to the maximum achievable bore you of 86-88mm your engine would be undersquare so running at higher rpms would require a custom made billet crankshaft because of the huge stress that is put on the crankshaft. However this setup is very very nice for torque. Do you have any torque numbers?

What camshafts are you running? How many degrees?

Thats quite alot of power coming out of a single throttle body 3.5l M52! Are you using custom individual throttle bodies? Its hard to see in your pictures but it seems that your intake plenum is aftermarket. What is it?

I know of huge gains being made with huge custom carbon airboxes running Alpha-N. What kind of engine management are you running with this stroker? I am thinking of going with a carbon airbox and running alpha-n but I have trust issues with tuners in Malaysia so i am not too sure about the future of my M3 unless I spend heaps getting a realtime datalogger that can send the info of the car while it is on the dyno to someone overseas to get a remote tune done. I think you should defenitely look into getting a carbon airbox!

Don’t mind my huge amount of questions, I have been trying to figure out the best power/cost ratio for a stroker to build for my brother and if this is achievable cheaply, something I would definitely consider.

I would love to see some dyno data for this monster :rock:

EDIT: Crap i just read that your block is still nikasil lined? So you havent bored it yet? So your stroke needs to be even longer to make 3.5l. How the heck did you find someone that was able to make this crankshaft for you in Malaysia? Or did you get it made overseas?

i'm not going to expose the performance stuf here, no good bcoz its ilegal lolx..
yeah lots of things custommade from piston to rod including the cams n injectors..
if one of u saw the small writen spec there just ignore it, just enjoy the total black e36 only...
but dont try it on road lolx... ;)
 
Those are legit questions (e34_lover's questions) that come to my mind also. Can you post a dyno sheet here so then atleast we can see what's your m52 is putting out?

running on public road IMHO is dangerous ....better run on a dyno machine to see ... common guys chill pls
