Im on 17's....and using Pirelli Dragons....paid RM470 a piece.

Generally very good, good handling, esp in the wet and the thread doesnt ware off too fast.

Ive had these tyres for about 3 months now, its all good...got them at tyre shop next to PJ De Inn (how convenient)....average on the alignment though.

No offend intended :beaten: ..no matter what tires you choose..you have to go for at least Japanese make tires...& and pls do not go for malaysian made tires..is not tht i discriminate fellow malaysian products...it is just tht the malaysian tyres does not match your Beem personality...it just like you are wearing Armani suit but you match it with Bata shoes... where got match brother....???not cun lah......furthermore have try malaysian made tyre on my kelisa...after emergency braking to avoid from hittin the motorbike...the front tyre got bend....so imagine you hard braking your beem..(suppose got more G's) what will happen to those tires...afterall tyre is the only contact between you, your machine & the road surface...

I suppose if you choose the proper tires, you should be quite okie, the load index is especially important if you are driving a big saloon. Korean tires have made huge inroads into the international market and definitely capable of giving the traditional powerhouses a run for their money. :)

I just got back from Sunny Car Care at Tmn Sea for my regular magic alignment and they quoted me Pirelli Dragons for 225/45/17s for RM420 per piece. I think this is a blardy good deal. I also notice the Dragons wear off very nicely i.e. evenly and is very durable. Even tho mine has lasted more than a year plus, the grip levels are still first rate but it does get a tad noisy. Overall, it made my ex-SP9000s look like the worst way of spending good money!

Just a quick tale of tyres.

I run 225/40/18 Good Year F1 GSD3 (German) and i got them cheap from SG for about RM500 per piece. I was at The Curve just before Xmas when someone deliberately put a nice little round hole in my sidewall (you dont get accidental punctures like that). I replaced this tyre locally in KL and it costs me RM800 for just one piece. What a big difference!

JPB,

Got such a nice car, dun save money on tyres la.... tsk, tsk, tsk.

And for ONLY RM130 per piece, can upgrade from Dragon to Yokohama Advan Neova dude.....

The extra RM520 spent would look very very good a few months down the road... esp in our current wet weather and slippery road conditions...

Just to share, i got quoted from Klang for firenza 215/45/17 for RM 285 & Yokohama A drive for RM 300 for the same size. Anyone use the tyre b4 and how is it? is the price cheap?

any1 tried BFgoodrich tyres before ?? if yes how much is a piece cost for 224/45/17 ??

The rims came with 2 firenzas (yes, the exploding tires!)

The scandalous "exploding tyres" were Firestone SUV tyres of a few years back.

Firenzas are apparently made in Japan by Ohtsu (also the makers of Falken tyres) for the Stamford Tyre Group. Firenza is not related to Firestone. Firestone is wholly owned by Bridgestone.

I tried Yokohama ES100 on my E46 325i (225/50ZR16) and noted that it was showing signs of stress very early on after just ONE round of blitzing the Ulu Yam roads! Within a week, I changed them to Continental ContiSportContact (CSC) tyres (lost some $ on the trade-in, sigh) which I felt were better than the Yokohamas.

The CSCs has covered 70,000km so far and the wear has yet to reach the TWI mark! The CSCs are quiet (and comfortable when new-ish). However, the CSCs are only so-so in the wet. In the dry they're OK.

im using BRIDGESTONE PONTEZA G3 225/45/17 RM430

DRY ROAD = VERY GOOD
WET ROAD = GOOD
TIRES SOUNDS = A LITTLE BIT
