tyre change

My wheel size is 205/60R 15 91V

A tyre shop tells me the 65 Series would also be compatible with my rims.

i presume the 205/65 R15 would be the closest match. it would affect the speedo reading a little, wouldn't it? can this be remedied?

planning to get the dunlop formula D 01......wot's the feedback on the tyre?

riding a e36 325i

No more update from the members ka on the latest comparison price. Some quotes that I manage to get.

Goodyear F1- RM890 (235/40/18) RM990 (275/35/18)
Toyo T1R - RM620 (235/40/18) RM680 (265/35/18) RM810 (275/35/18)
Yoko AD07 - RM880 (245/40/18)
Falken Fk452 - RM680 (235/40/18)

I'm on my current set of Toyo T1Rs - 235/40/18s all round! Got em for RM 550.00 each from a regular hang-out in JB. Great tires and handle very well in the wet too ... a touch noisy as they wear but nothing major!

Cheers,
VaN.

back to topic

i'm running on Direzza too, handles well in dry, good grip , not too noisey
but when its wet i try not to make sooo much noise......hahaha..:p

Teejay,

Someone better put him out of misery before he infects all of us!

But seriously, I heard some very good remarks about the Direzza and the slightly more expensive SportMaxx in JB and SG. I'm thinking of trying the SportMaxx later as the prices in SG are almost around what I paid for my T1Rs.

Regards,
VaN.

Van ...

Forget Sport Maxx - I used it for less than 1 week (brand new). Throw it away and replace it with Direzza. Side wall for SportMaxx - too soft for me ...

Yup, having that on my e34 for almost 7 months now. It sucks when you push it hard, too much body roll.

I agree... Sports Max on my bro's 328 feels too soft.
The Direnza 101 really impressive .

same as my Hankook...the V8RSi soft and comfy, good on the wet. No doubt value for money.
But the RS2 really bites the road, hardly any flexes on the sidewalls. But really.. be careful when wet...

Will be using Hankook RS2 again for the next HPC event.Cos I love them.

I have read some reviews about the SportMaxx and most of them are positive, in fact the tire is top rated in some magazines. But so far, in terms of performance and reliability, its no better off than Hankook, KUmho or Firenza. IMO, hankook make excellent tires, and taking into account of the price its unbeatable.

Agree with Zoggee, nearly got to an accident in my Hankook RS2 (however, the thread is around 30-40% at the time and might be the cause, the car aquaplane and nearly lost control). After that, whenever it rains, really really careful driving.

Thinking of getting Toyo T1R after this

was considering between michelin pilot preceda and dunlop direzza... after reading reviews on this forum, went with the latter... surprisingly silent and comfortable... and a bargain compared to the michelins... money saved went towards koni sport adjustables... thanks 535i...

Dude,

Get the Dunlop Direnza...better value.
If possibble get the Hankook K104. Bundy use it b4...
Ditch the Preceeda...get the PS2. If moolah permits.
