Saw this ad, and hv been making some comparisons between an E39 530i to a 520i 2.2.Petrol bill wise, it'll be easily 20% more. Interestingly, the 520i can hit 550km on a full tank in town driving.Service & Parts wise, both should be the same since both cars are mechanically identical apart from engines and features.Roadtax will be 2k a year, but perhaps worht it considering how 60 bhp more will make a big difference in the driving experience, especially during an outstation run.Tyres might cost more, since they'll probably get chewed up faster with the extra torque and difficulty to resist traffic light pedal to the metal. What else? any owners experience to share?http://malaysiacar.org/classifieds/bmw-530i-e39-dec-2002-2/One OwnerGenuine 80,000km mileage.Black LeatherElectric Sun Shade & Rear Window shades10 srs airbags, Sports steering wheel,Electric Memory SeatsDynamic Stability Control100% Accident Free231 BHP Double VANOS engine 2997cc 6 cylinder5 speed steptronic automaticPerfect condition interiorEverything is working.Original PDC Front & Rear parking sensorsOriginal Xenon projector headlampsFull set of user manual is availableCd player is working and tools in the trunk is complete.Excellent condition. Hmmm...I came across a thread once saying the 530i has the best FC-Power ratio compared to other models of E39. I can't confirm this though...

My 2003 E39 530i fuel consumption on a full tank using Caltex Techron for town driving is 510km (semi hard driving). Totally enjoyable car to drive.
