I know this has been discuss several time but there is no conclusion to the above, it is getting hard to find RON 97 petrol, many petrol station only sell RON95, any E39 owner who has been using RON 95 and still happy with it?, did any of your car develop problem due to the change?

I am using RON95, no problem at all. Since u know that we have been discussed many times before, why not u look back at the old thread?

I mixed BHP RON 95 with SHELL V Power and the result is amazing. Mix ratio is 70:30. Give it a try.

THanks Herbert, I will try your combination.

RON97 BHP is very good, FC also better, power also better when wanna use. I used to use SHELL RON97 but after putting in roN97 BHP, somehow this BHP is much better, I went back to Shell to try again, cannot compare, still BHP RON97.

I will try your mixture and see how it turns out...obviously I'd love to use VPOWER all the time but too expensive.

Try caltex textron. It's yellow in color. better that 95 & 97. if you can find it. The best fuel I've ever experienced apart from V power

the techron that you used was it 95 or 97?

i think 95. was a long time ago. more power, better mileage and cleaner engine. most unleaded is green but Caltex developed was yellow. will check the stations again since the 95 is back

This switch is in line with the Malaysian Government’s directive to ensure consumers are able to visually distinguish between the RON grade fuels, and the product ID decals reflect the color of the respective fuels. For example, RON95 possesses a yellow hue, while RON97 bears a red product color.

for normal town driving, there's not much difference in performance between 95 and 97.

somehow, i feel that 97 is more effecient.

my first choice is BHP 97 and second is Caltex 97

Thank you all, here is the conclusion: the concern seems to be only FC and performance, so what some mechanic's warning about serious engine knocking when using RON 95 is not true, anyway E39 come with knocking sensor that is suppose to retard the timing if necessary. thanks again.
I will try both RON 95 & 97 BHP brand and post the result of FC soon.
