rattling and vibrating issues

There is no solution....well, not one offered by BMWM, that is. I just send the car in and make a record of it. It's to their disadvantage at the end of the day. When and if something else happens to the car in future, I'll include all these visits that have chalked up to only temporary remedies as part of my reasons for raising hell...

Even the cheapest low-end car doesn't rattle. I don't think one should live with a flaw like that, and if it were me I would off-load it immediately and cut my losses. Just my opinion.

Agree with Schwepps. I just booked & paid deposit for the pre-owned 323i year 2010 last week from AB. After read all these scary stories about unexpected sound in e90, I think I better cut lose now before it's too late. I'm so use to Camry and don't think I can bear with these sounds.

But again, is this only happened to Sport models? Any 323i owners having the same issues? It's hard for me to make the decision as I've being wanted to own a bimmer for many many years...:12:

No matter how badly you want a car, look for possible deal-breakers to prevent heartache. Eg: Test drive it thoroughly over bumpy stretches with your senses alert. Find out why the previous owner sold it within months. Ensure that the max BSRI and warranty are given to you by AB.

If it's all good, why not buy it? A Bimmer is a way better and more satisfying drive than a Camry.

I believe the rattling is only on sport model but they already have half-baked solution of taping the black plastic liner around the upper door frame. Not elegant or BMW type of solution but it works. Just remember to clean the tape every time you wash the car to maintain the squeeky free operation.

Since you have been longing for a Beemer a long time, better get it now and be done with it or else the regret will be far worse than the minor inconvenience of the mousy sounds in the car.

If I have to settle own Camry, I might as well keep my 1992 Perdana. We don't have many more 10 years to live.. make the switch now, or never.. :D .. and for me, test drive not needed! Just bring it on!

3 weeks ago during 1 of our power test with a fellow member, we switch driver and to my surprise, those cracking sound from all 4 doors of his E90 is really irritating.. it sounded like someone is squeeze cracker bag, or rubbing a blown up balloon with wet fingers, next to your ear, all 4 doors, continuously, non stop! geez!!

Thanks for all the positive feedback. This is what I like to hear. Ok, will proceed with the purchase. :1: Should be able to get the car by this week. AB should give you guys a gift as token of appreciation.

Yes, December 2012 is approaching, either you own it now or NEVER.

For Schwepps, the car was previously owned by BMW Malaysia. It was assigned to one of the Manager there, according to the SA.

Good choice! :top:

This is one plunge you will never regret! Welcome to the clan!

BMWood, I had a 323i for a whole day as a loaner car, there was no creaking noises even when going through the bumpy stretches I'm familiar with. My 320d sport is positively irritating but I haven't had the time to have AB tape up the doors yet...

I have a 323i LCI and been using it for 1 year already. The sound was there on the rear left passenger door but it was fixed by the SC many months ago. Sound has never returned so far (knock wood!). So, it's not peculiar to sports model only.

Should be good then and you can bargain for full term warranty and BSRI. Just test drive it to make sure none of the common issues discussed in this forum exist. Then it's bai-bai Toyoda!

sent my car to AB Sg.Besi to rectify the rattling sounds and i'm quite happy with the result. 90% of the rattling is gone...unfortunately there is still about 10%. Should I accept it or make a complain again ?

Anyway, I'm facing another problem here.

I can hear always this metal sliding on plastic......its coming from the front ashtray. At first i thought it came from the coins that i put in the ashtray...but after removing everything in the ashtray.....i can still hear the metal sliding sound everytime i take a right or left corner.

Anyone experiencing this problem?

Tango, I have this rattling sound on my left door / dashboard. Any idea what AB Sg Besi. If put teflon tape, they had done that but to no avail.

Tested the car before I place the deposit. Maybe I was so enjoying the ride and didn't paid much attention to the rattling sound. Rattling sound in a BMW? Never in my tought until I read this thread!

Managed to bargain for free v-kool and mobility kit. Feel "pai say" to ask for more. Anyway I will take delivery of my car tomorrow and will try my luck to bargain the full term warranty, golf umbrella, golf bag and key chain. Sound a bit like auntie....

Now got to cross my fingers that it doesn't come with special sound effect..:63:
