Yes, was quoted near 1K per piece just for the rear and it's only RE010. Never try conti before so give it a go for this time. Is the TT on the 8th? I will only get to KL 8th midnight and I just remember I have a wedding dinner on the 9th night. So the best is 10th night.

Mine is 40k, the rears only have ~3mm left. The ware on inside rears are quite bad.

Hey guys! mikeyC can't make it tonite the 8th for the TT-he only reaches KL at midnite. He has a wedding dinner tomorrow the 9th. He prefers the 10th. What do you all think? I guess tonight's TT is off then, aim for the 10th now.

may not be able to join the 10th, but pls go ahead! i'll try to come if i can.

Yeah I got my Slime too today!!

As for the tires the new 320i that i'm driving at the moment is using Conti tires. HAve yet to snoop on the model. Maybe C2 or C3. Will revert. Just curious why they opted Conti now when previously they handed out Bridgestone. Maybe its a German thingy!!

Wash my ride myself today and realized that my rims were scratched during the tyre change last week. Is it unavoidable that when changing tyre we will get some scratches on rims. Or is there any tyre shops that can do a better job?

Ordering the mobility kit frm Mr. Lee now. Just wanted to confirm the usage procedure... do I put the slime in before or after the tyre gets punctured? Should be before right?

the slime goes in only after the unfortunate incident of getting a flat (unlike the VW's and their pre-injected tire sealant). you don't want it in your tires beforehand, because it'll mess up your balancing and stability with the liquid sloshing about inside.
when your tire's fully deflated, you pour in the slime through the tire valve (after removing its heart), then use the electric pump to reinflate the tire. a slow drive for about 2kms will allow the slime to find the hole and harden it to seal the leak.

haven't done it myself, but that's the theory anyways.

bro, if you don't mind sharing how much were the front 225/45/17 and how much were the rear 255/40/17 CSC3s?

Changed my 320d front tyres at Hua Hin, Sg Besi today. Situated just before Auto Bavaria. Bridgestone Potenzas RE001 Adrenaline non RFTs 225/45/17 91W 8 week of 2011 production. Made in Japan. Got them for MR 540 each-with free balancing and valves. What wasn't free and wasn't expected though was that(after they offered to balance the rear tyres too), that both my front alloys and one of my rear alloys needed hot oven pressing(MR 100 per wheel) as the inner part of the rims were bengkok, and when they did alignment(MR 12 each tyre), both my rear tyres needed camber adjustment-MR150 per wheel for a 15 minute job!-but managed to bargain it down to MR75 a wheel after telling him I'm a BMWCM member. And there were another 2 cars in the shop all also needed the same hot oven pressing of alloy rims and cambering adjustment etc. Sometimes, one wonders, whether its really necessary. You guys have any experience with Hua Hin?

Just wanted to ask if anyone has actually used the Slime kit with a actual puncture?

Any latest updates for RFT prices?

thks

Doc,so u actually have two nonRFT front tyres and stock RFT rear tyres at the moment?
And all 4 tyres now are 255/45/17?

Sorry bro, I didn't ask for the breakdown, can't really help you on this.

Yeap namidub bro! Rears are RFTs 255/40/17 Bridgestone Potenzas RE050-changed them earlier this year-the rears wear down much faster than the front because of our RWD.

so there's no harm mixing sizes? in your case
Front RE001 255/45/17 and
Rear RE050 255/40/17 ?

I think it's a typo on doc's part. Should b 225 and not 255 on the fronts. No way u can get 255 for $540 anyway. Mixing different tyre types and even brands is ok as long as they are on the same axle.

Btw doc, I had my left front and rear rims hot pressed too when I changed one of my punctured rft a couple of months ago. Charged $95 per rim. And like you, they 'discovered' it after a courtesy balancing on the other wheels. Hmmm! Wonder of it's some ploy but let's give them the benefit of doubt first. On the camber adj, can't comment on it as I didnt do alignment but I do read on motoring mags that in the absence of a camber adj kit/screw on the wheels, we should avoid high pressure camber adj tools as we may risk damaging the components. Anyone care to verify?
