Salam and Hi, Finally I've made a decision after six months hunting. So received the car two days ago, a demo E90 325i 2008 with 9000 km. The same day covered from KL to Kuantan back to KL and head north due to some emergency. Total travelled about 800 km. Noticed a few things:1. It's rather noisy at above 140 kph . Possibly coming from wind noise and tire. Not so obvious on my 18 years old E34. Is that normal for RFT? 2. Slightly wooble to a side when hit uneven surface, i.e. bridge edge at above 140 kph. A thug sound can be heard as well. Again, is that normal for RFT? 3. Slight hesitation on take off. Other than that, the car is just great. It can easily reach 200 kph in no time. Truly appreciate your comments. FYI, still got time to change the car as it has yet to officially registered under my name. It was delivered as courtesy car. Wil do the official transfer and proper handover after raya. It's so rush on that day, no proper inspection on the car. The car was accepted in good faith... after all it's considered a new car and from a reputable company summore.

BEAR IN MIND THIS IS THE LATEST GENERATION ENGINE WITH MORE POWER. ITS LOUDER TOO. RFTs ARE SLIGHTLY MORE NOISIER DUE TO HARDER SIDEWALLS.

2. Slightly wooble to a side when hit uneven surface, i.e. bridge edge at above 140 kph. A thug sound can be heard as well. Again, is that normal for RFT?

COULD BE MANY FACTORS. IF TIRES ARE DIRECTIONAL TYPE WITH DEEP GROOVES, IT WOULD TRAMLINE. WOBBLE SOUNDS NOT RIGHT.

3. Slight hesitation on take off.

THIS IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE CAR. NORMAL. USE DS MODE IF U WANT INSTANT RESPONSE. :)

Other than that, the car is just great. It can easily reach 200 kph in no time.

DOUBLE CHECK THAT ITS NOT A 'TRAINING' CAR. DEMO CARS ARE NOT THAT HEAVILY TRASHED, BUT IF ITS A DRIVER 'TRAINING' CAR U CAN BE SURE ITS BEEN THRASHED. AVOID THEM.

good luck man

Yeah, good point from bimmerdude. 9k seems too high for a unit used purely as a demo car unless it was also used by an executive for a while. You're lucky to be able to test it over Raya! Find out the car's true history before registering it. Also, at +140kmh, my 325i Sports is almost too quiet. It's mostly engine noise and even that is muted. I'm on Bridgestone RFTs, so I don't think that should be a factor if they're properly inflated.

the rft is sure abit harsh. u will notice a big difference running without RFT. where did u buy it from? u make a thorough check and test drive a few more before taking a dip. so you will be sure.

What about the alignment? U notice anything wrong with alignment? They are very lousy in getting the alignment right and pre-delivery cars are mostly over inflate the tyres to prevent sagging when park for long duration.. and often neglect to deflate to the right tyre pressure upon delivery. Check the tyre pressure recommendation label at the driver side B-Pillar for the correct tyre pressure.

how come you are able to get the car without registration first???? high liability on BMW right...
i doubt its a demo car. more like an executive or training car...
the issues you mentioned like loud noise..same here...
but after the first oil change...it gets better.

i'm still lovin it...*my car*

Steven7,
I will msg you personally. Now, I'm more concerned on the safety while driving at high speed rather than whether it's a good deal or not since already committed.

Rachel,

It's already registered under Authorized Dealer's name in May 2008 (No need to mention name lar....) Production date is Jan 2008. I'm gonna be a second owner. SA told me sometimes, it's being used by Manager. . Glad that you mentioned it gets better as time goes by.

wow... u must have a very good negotiation skill to be able to get the car to test it for 1 week before registering it under your name....

Not so good lar.... It's more like take it or leave it... He is so eager to increase the volume for the month and I'm so eager to get the car for raya. Told him, if I have to wait, then the deal is off.

Mafia,

Nice talking to you. I'm kind of relief when you said it's a normal thing. Thanks Bro. It's time to enjoy the machine.

Hey would love to know the price :) Am looking for an upgrade so that'll be helpful.

RFTs are not the best things in the world.

my car is reg new Mar 2006 CBU 325i, clocked only 12k km so far, imagine your ride reg in Jan 2008 and clocked 9k km? mileage speaks for itself.

anyone wants to buy my car???

Spaceman, I have one small jap which was reg Mar 2006 too and it's only used as an idle spare. I actually have to force myself to take it out once a week to maintain the batt and oil condition. And yet it's clocked 15k. If your E90 has clocked only 12k, you must be leaving it idle in the garage too. Why did you fit paddle shifts for SGD3,200 (RM7,700) in July then? Too much dosh burning a hole in your pocket ka?

Bro, what is the price~???

Lefthanded,

Its a higher chance for an ADT car if its Black or Silver 325i. Is that the color of the demo car you are evaluating?
