bro, the front tires require more pressure than the rears do they? it's because the heavier part of the car is at the front due to engine, headers and what not.

Bro huskar,

What you said made sense, i agree too. However our cars are RWD hence the higher pressure at the rear is needed. This is also inline with the recommended tyre pressure difference label guide at the driver's right door.

Since the cars that i aimed all sold ...so now looking for 525i-2003 after listening advice from SIFU's ~

E39 520i is a great highway cruiser. She brought me more than 800km / tank before, with light-footed driving style. Our relationship lasted 2 years.

Be SUPER careful when buying from used-car dealers....

I agree with seewai even my M54B22 very good highway cruiser once you are hitting 180km/h the momentum is there to go even faster if the highway permits............. but during take offs little heavy compared to 2.5 or 3.0 ideally the M54B30 will be best of its choice if you are speed demon or like lots of driving along the highways.
Cheers

Please help. Really lost here.

What do you want to know?

First off, not sure if the description is for the car on the photo.

Description says the car is blue, photo is black.

Mileage says 75k, but might be tampered since the tamper dot can be seen on the cluster. Also from the cluster, outside temp sensor is faulty. Another thing, the cluster plastic face is cracked and needs replacing.

Good thing is the car has 16:9 screen which means the car either have factory fitted TV or GPS.

That car is a Japan import, so it could actually be a 523i prefacelift badged as a 525i.

Hi BMW520,

Have you replaced your fuel filter, ATF using ori ZF brand u may see some different after doing that ask your foreman to plug in diagnostic erase adaptation value erase all error codes.

I am owning the 520i 2003 model last batch from AB so far town driving for RM100 i get 300km to 330km depends sometimes i do floor it from traffic lights to traffic lights for fun.

Long distance easily i can get 680km to 740km in that range for a full tank it also depends on the cruising speed its very hard to keep it 110km/h most of the time its beyond 140km/h.

Engine oil using revenol 10w 60 fully syn.

Cheers,

Went and took a look at the car. Was quite disappointed with it actually. As you said, I suspect the mileage has been tampered with.
The interior condition is just so-so. I think I will pass on this. Will be looking at other options. Either 525i or 530i. Anyway thanks for the comment bro. Much appreciated.

Hi, Yaz initial take off only lah the car is heavy heavy....... drive by wire response slight lag compared to cable version.

I drove my friends 523i 1997 really need to push gas pedal to move.

Cheers,

i have came across a lot of E39s, m52,m54 lost so much of power due to a rotten cat, and leaky oily engines. i cannot actually explain why the leaky oily gaskets will cause power lost but i believe it has something to do with the ccv's. once you have leaky gaskets, when you take off the oil cap, there is no vacuum feeling into the engine. when u have a not efficient ccv, you get the same feeling.

for car this age, if possible, de-cat. the restriction from the rotten cat is so so bad. lose at least 20-30Nm in torque.

Hi, i'm new here..actually i'm also looking for E39 520i last batch 2003 CKD, how is the car? Any common problem? the market price is about RM46k-RM52k..reasonable price?TQ

Hi Alan,

If de-cat will the car run too rich?

Do u know if faulty Catalylic sensor can be replaced? But it doesn't solve the clogged up 10 yrs old cat right? I just saw 1 car , only headache is Catalylic converter sensor shows fault code and O2 sensors..

Thanks ..
