@seewai,
tkx man but think auto gearbox is good for now..to give the option for my folks/gf to drive it in future (if they prove themselves capable of driving rwd bmw !!)

Looking to maybe trade in my M52 2.0l for M52 528i engine, both 1997 model; while servicing/repairing my current gearbox (I've been told that the gearbox for the 520i and 528i for 1997 model is the same gbox). Is that accurate info? Wonder how much that would cost for the conversion and gbox servicing........

@herbert if you're here, could you pls PM me service cost? Thanks !

Thanks guys; BMW Malaysia forum has always been informative for me in real world issues reg BMW ownership

Cheers,
Pro

cheers buddy, will look into it; am from S'pore though
E39 is a rock ! wish it had more juice though....for those bros with 528i, any idea of the feeling is significantly different from 2.0L?

Wow, how much COE are you paying for the E39?

528i should be quite significant difference from your 520i.

ya man.. COE is nuts...71k to renew coe !!!!
Bought this car w/ COE already till 2017 Feb so at least 5 years to go.... should (hopefully) have enough time for prices to drop and can renew another 10 years ! My COE was renewed in 2007, at a time when prices were significantly lower :)...Sadly so few e39's in S'pore...solo costello !

that is just crazy man...I saw an E39 520i at Hakitrade, a chop shop in Subang which comes from Singapore. I guess the owner couldn't afford/cant be bothered to renew the COE...

but good for me, since I got a good few pieces out of that car and into mine!

Hope the same wont happen to your e39..
