great seeing u @ BOMIN sat...hope your water woes goes away...hehe wanna be as low as mine eh...;)

keep the style 68...very rare set though...

bro wingzee,

Nice pics. Just curious, your whell/fender gap looks large. 4.5 fingers is huge. Are you sure the coils are the right ones? Mine I changed from Eibach to Original at Mspeed. Ride height increased only extra +1 finger, (from Eibach 2 fingers to Ori 3 fingers). Below is a pic of mine...

As for the rims, i would say keep the style 68. Just like you, I also contemplated hard on whether to change it. But after asking a few people for ther opinions, many (especially ladies) have commented that the rims are really nice. Perhaps it looks a bit like a piece of jewellery. Plus, i also felt those style 68 rims added a little 1970s 'retro' attitude to my car. So i decided to keep mine.

If you do decide to keep your rims, i would suggest changing your rear tyres to the right size (245/40/17). Yours is running on 225/45/17 if i am not mistaken. I changed mine already. Changing to the 245/40/17 really made a big difference to the handling and ride comfort. And the slight tram-lining i had previously is totally gone.

Thanks for the sample pic, coffee.

I think the huge gap was mainly due to mine is an Exclusive edition with stock abs (Boge Automatic) & springs while yours is an M-Sport? Are you still on original M-Sport abs or aftermarket ones?

Care to share where did you got your 245 rears? Was offered a 2009 Nexen N3000 in 245/40R17 for RM300 each but am waiting for the current 225 to wears off before replacing it.

The ride height you see in my picture is original Stock springs and Stock Sach abs.

As for the tyres, i changed mine to GT Radial Champiro HPY. Its a Y rated tyre (rated up to 300km/h) and is GT Radial's top of the line tyres. The Potenzas that came with the car were wearing off and the 225/45/17s at the back were causing tram-lining and harshness.

The GT Radial Champiros are OEM to some Benz and BMW models in China, so i am quite confident in them. They also supply a lower range OEM to the new proton preve. Happy with them so far. Very quiet, and wet performance is excellent! Plus, its VERY comfortable. The best thing is the price is realy affordabel - just rm350 for the front (225/45/17) and rm450 for the rear (245/40/17). They are not as good as the Goodyears or Bridgestones, but i think bettert than Falkens.

Downside is that the soft compound causes a bit more body roll around corners. I was considering between Nexen N6000 and the HPYs. Settled for the HPYs because the quicksave boss said the N6000s could be too soft for our Bimmer set-ups.

No regrets so far.

Hmm..shall get my mech to check on the springs then. Am surprised at the height too initially.

I was actually planning to go for Nexen N8000 which is around RM340 per pc for 225/45R17 once my front wears out. But looks like Champiros are a good option too. May get them for the rears then. Didn't know they were OEMs for Benz & BMW. :)

Thanks for the recommendation!

List of oustanding issues:

1. Check on steering coupling (Alignment keep running out after adjustment & klok sound when going over speed humps)
2. Service aircond (Aircond is cooling but compressor only kicks in a minute after a cold start)
3. 325i model badge removal
4. Rear right rim refurb (Kerbed it last weekend :()

Any ideas on how much are the GT radial for 18 Inch?

You may call quicksave USJ. Google them and you can sure to find their contact.

Keep those 68......classic rims with the evergreen body line of an E46......

Thanks for the opinions guys. Looks like the 68 is to keep! :)

Anyway, these just came in from Germany today via Fedex. Fully paid & sponsored by someone in Europe.

Mentally +5bhp to the ride! :D

Just replaced my 4 donuts with GT Radial Champiro HPY at Quicksave USJ. Previously on Bridgestone Potenza RE001 but the RE001s were too hard for my liking (front still pretty hard even pumped with only 30psi) and the rears were tramlining badly (stretched to fit the staggered style 68 as they are only 225 instead of 245).

Got the front 225/45R17 for RM350 each and 245/40/R17 rear for RM450 each.

Never heard of GT Radial until bro coffee replaced his for the same price and the same place.

Found pretty good reviews overseas as their presence locally is still fairly new.

Was considering between this and Nexen N8000 but went for this due to better threadwear.

Initial impression: Much better comfort (softer) compared to the old RE001s. Handling-wise haven't got the chance to try at higher speed but town driving felt the same.

Photos coming up once I give my ride a good wash. :D

Thanks guys. Car was left filthy for almost 2 weeks as I was outstation. Clocked 1.5k km in just the span of 2 weeks. Usually wash the ride weekly and decided to do so early today.

Seats and floorboard vibration still exists and yet to be solved. Ah Soon of K&S Auto USJ is pointing it to the long shaft as even changing the tires makes no improvement (tires are due for replacement anyway).

Will try to solve it next weekend if I have the time. May and June been such busy months.

Next mod will probably be the DD player and a nice set of speakers. Front and rear left speakers is already in bad shape (broken).
