Panjang pulak la masalah eksiden aku ni ekk??? But for sure, it ain't the insurance problem, coz the workshop started the repair right after they took my car. So, I think the problem lays at the workshop itself. I personally quite satisfied with the ketukmanship, slightly better than the one I sent the car for body & paintwork. The paint part... I think they cheated a bit. My original paint is ultra pearl blue, but I think my car was sprayed with ordinary metallic blue. Overall, I'm OK with the result, for now. Need to wait for 2-3 months to see if the paintwork doesn't have the karat problem.
What I'm not satisfied with them are:
1. They knew there are having problem with my car, therefore they made sure I signed the papers first before I could take my car (they offered me 3 months warranty instead if there is any problem). They also made me wait from 6pm until it is dark (around 7++pm) before they bring my car from the store to the office so that I can't really check it. But they failed me right on the spot - the central locking doesn't work, and my clock & radio keep resetting everytime I start the engine. When I complained, they told me to come back the next day for checking & repair.
2. I also noticed that my fuel is almost empty. WTH? I've already filled up RM50 before they took my car. I went to a petrol station nearby. There I found out that there are some "kesan umpilan" (what do you call them in English?). Whoa... why do they need to do that? Are they trying to steal my petrol? Doubt it, they have my key & remote... can open cover that easily. Are they trying to fill up my car with more petrol??? (bwahaha... r u kidding me?). My theory is this... they ketuk my car... somehow they managed to screw up the central locking, and then when work completed, they went somewhere rempiting with my car, used up all my petrol, got stranded somewhere and have to umpil the petrol cover to fill some petrol.
3. I came back to the workshop the next morning. I told them about the central locking problem and also the petrol cover. I checked other places and discovered that the driver door also ada kesan kena umpil. WTF? I asked them and they admit that they had to do that because they cannot get in. Duh! If they did that, why didn't they spray it back so that the damage is not noticeable? Afterall I'm gonna get them spray those places back. I then left the car for them to spray and check what's wrong with the central locking. When I came back in the evening, I found out that they didn't do the spraying. The central locking is also still not working. And I saw the central locking cover is broken (a proof that they did try to check that unit?). They told me that there is no problem with the central locking unit, but my alarm unit is faulty. Duh! It was working when they took it. They denied any responsibility on the alarm, but promised will fix the central locking if it's broken. Then they asked me to take the car and have my alarm checked and fixed. What pissed me of is that they had to break the central locking cover just to check it. Pandai betul lah diorang ni... Lepas tu another surprise coming!!! Tengah sedap2 memandu dengan semangat sheer driving pleasure, tiba2 je cover bawah stering aku jatuh, kena kat kaki aku. BANGS4TTTT!!! Buat terkejut aku je... nasib baik keta aku ECU limited speed limit 180km/h sahaja. Nothing bad happened. Pund3k ni sudah bukak cover bawah stering tu tapi tak reti nak skru balik!!!
4. The next day (today, 6/2/2008), aku pegi la ke bengkel regular aku for second opinion. They checked the wiring... so far so good... the central locking unit... maybe OK... but they cannot verify the alarm is OK. So, I bring the car to an accessory shop for checking. Within 10 minutes, they got it working again... reason? 1 blown fuse, babeh!!!! Hammpehsss betul bengkel itu... kan? So lepas tu aku pun pegi la opis... dengan gembira la sebab main problem dah setel... keta dah boleh kunci pakai remote
5. In the evening, I went home. Car still ok. Somehow, when I almost arrived to my apartment, my radio went off and on several times. Aaa... loose wire contact? Damn it, must change new radio lah after this. When I got to the parking... ready to get out and turn off my engine, suddenly everything just sooo quite too sudden. Biasa laa... kereta lama ni kena la pasang timer, bagi enjin lambat sket kong... (included in alarm functions). Tapi, apasal tetiba je senyap & enjin terus mati? I insert the key back & start the car... voila!!! the car cannot start!!! yeehaa... no light... no blinking... no nothing. My car is dead... Dengan bosannya aku pun naik la rumah... besok je la kot carik bengkel. Or maybe my regular mechanic can visit me tonite... Around 8pm... dengan perasaan tak puas hati... I went back to the car... check the battery... the main fuse... semua ok. Apa problemnya??? Then suddenly I saw a cable dangling... Argh... starter relay??? Macam mana boleh tercabut??? Fich me... (pardon my German). I reconnect the cable... toot toot... ehh... berbunyik lak alarm ni... dammit... this must be the culprit. Now car can start... lights all can on... fuh lega... but... Haih... what can I say about this bengkel eh?
I was also told that they actually "sub-con"ed my car to other workshop because their workshop is "too busy", so I guessed I wouldn't trust this workshop for any type of work again, despite the satisfactory paintjob.
Hopefully dah ok keta aku... no more loose cables...
Mungkin boleh test pegi Temerloh??? Tapi kalau breakdown kat memana... mmmmrasssa!!!
Lepas CNY holidays... kena hantar balik ke bengkel tu untuk spray balik kesan2 umpilan . Hopefully they will not touch anything else and cause more headache... Right now, this korean word I dedicated to them... SHIBAL!!!!!
