Ultimate BMW maintenance schedule

Bavarian Otto’s Ultimate BMW maintenance schedule

Over the years, we have seen some horrific problems –
blown engines, seized transmissions, broken axles...
Sadly, most of these nightmares could have been easily
avoided with proper preventive maintenance. We created
this schedule to help you avoid the same fate.

Why don’t we use BMW’s maintenance schedule? Two reasons:

• BMW’s schedules are designed to reduce costs: both
BMW’s costs (they now pay for initial maintenance) and
the all-important “cost of ownership” that JD Power,
etc., use to help shoppers decide which car to buy. This
makes sense for BMW: their goal is to sell cars. Our
goal is to keep the Bimmers we already own in top
condition, mile after mile, year after year.

• After more than 30 years of helping hundreds of thousands
of people replace parts that have failed on their
BMWs, we know very well which parts on which chassis
are prone to failure, and at what intervals. We’re not
talking door gaskets here – we’re talking timing belts,
water pumps... things that, when they do fail, can cause
real damage to your BMW, not to mention your wallet.
We’ve included those items in this schedule.

Preventive Maintenance

Preventive Maintenance: Save money, avoid repairs, improve performance & resale value.

To keep your BMW in top condition – today, tomorrow and for years to come – you
need to set-up and follow a realistic PM program. This will assure not only fewer
unscheduled repairs, but a higher resale value. Follow along as we take a look at a
well-thought-out PM program for your BMW.

My 1st service

Today I notice oil leak from steering oil reservoir with low oil level. No other significants problems. Milage 16500km. Make appointments with Seong Hoe Premium Motors, Melaka and will send my car next tuesday. Plan to do Inspection II (in view of age of the car) and at the same time checking oil leakage. Will share the experiences later.....

bro,
I had the same leakage from the power steering hose last week. To share with you, I changed all 3 hoses including the reservior for RM 510 (inclusive of labour).

Just did my 1st service yesterday, milage confirm 16589km (by Ignitation key reader). Did BMW Inspection II and replacing pressure line for power steering due to leakage (change 2 hoses), they still keep the reservoir. The rest of engine and supensions still in very good conditions. Details cost I posted to E39 parts and maintenance cost thread.
