My new ride E39 523i

Bro, I'm in JB lar. I dun send to AB as they not allowed owner at workshop area. Even I dun stick to one workshop. Normally got 2 places I go depend on what I need to do

planed to send my 1st service to AB Melaka then try to shop around in Muar....looking for reliable workshop.

While searching my dream UDM, I saw 4 new facelifted E39 525i year 02/03 all having problem with instrument panel - computer display - missing pixals, one of it not even have it at all (sending for repair), one dealer admit the owner change the whole panel from kedai potong. Older model have slightly different panel hopefully no simillar problem....

Asking price for recon CBU 01/06, I already mention RM 105k, whereas market value for 523i 99 model RM75 - 85k....just reminder for those looking UDM

I second that. :top::top: It's a different league altogether. I test drive new cars almost alternate month. Actually, none of the newer models can come close.

went to Al Famosa water world, melaka yesterday, very smooth drive and powerful (as my standard) becausee I don't racing. crusing 130 - 140 km/h quietly, just like I drive 80km/h in my camry. No regrets at all. You should be able to find one in good condition, just be patients and don't believe totally on salepersons only...need to study also, don' get cheated. currently monitoring my fueal consumptions.

Power is just relative....depand on what you want, If you want more HP go 525i with M54 engine (new model 00 - 03) with 192 HP almost equevelent to 528i, the new model 530i more than 200 HP. To me 523i with M52TU engine and 170 HP is adequate, with cheaper road tax too....more economical. The choice is yours.....

We want cheaper car (because of second hand) with luxuries feel and the most powerful.

If I was given a choice between 523i vs 525i with equevelent car conditions, definitely I buy 525i, price wise not much different RM10 - 20k,I don't mind paying extra but the problem I coundn't find 525i as good as mine.....

Yup power is relative. 523 is not too bad. 525 & 528 hp is same but 528 got more torque due to higher cc. How much yr RPM when running at 160kmh? Mine is slightly below 3k rpm.
