Wow. I've got to see your ride in the flesh dude!

Looks like a Detailing TT shaping up.

What say you guys?

Yeah! I also suggested this earlier i.e. to join up with the E90 gathering this Saturday at Souled Out, noon time! So how?

This pic takes the cake.. Good to see you have not lost weight.

You know that car owner? I think we have a common friend? His ride is just.... I got now words to express when I saw the ride and test drove it in person recently, don't know what he did to the engine either, the power is scary. All I know is he tore down the whole car and rebuilt it from scratch and spent a bomb to do it. I think he is mad (I hope he doesn't see this haha), could have bought a new car with it the amount of money but anyway very nice work done.

Seems I know that car owner too.

Yes, you are right. He is mad. :D

Good to see someone doing so much to his e36!

Parting is such sweet sorrow

A client sent me this car to be fully Meguiarised.

This is a parting shot before handing it back. Almost had to pry the keys from my hand.

If you need me, I'll be in therapy dealing with my depression cause by withdrawal and separation trauma....

I would have eloped with the vehicle

So, after the Ferrari, I got another client's car to do, this time a black E class.

Very new car, low mileage, but already picked up some scratches.

Put it through my usual fully Meguiar's process.

Before.

Some pix of my car right after out of the oven with very heavy orange peel so the optical clarity of the reflection is not that good:-

Base color is called Gun Metal Black, non-metallic. Clear coat is High Solid and a special blend (it has a black tint in it thereby the clear makes it very reflective and black and hence makes the surface looks like a mirror when it is prepped properly during the orange peel removal). Full set of Standox was imported by myself, from Primer right up to Hardener, no short cuts.

After the painter was done, it went straight to Auto Detailer where Darren flattened the paint and perfected the surface with his special blend of MG products (I believe he has blends that is customized, not the pro stuff that is available off the shelf from the importer). Right after that, I sealed it with Zaino, up-todate about 22 layers (11 layers of Z2Pro and 11 layers of Z5Pro, both added with ZFX, 3 layers max in 24 hours). My usual weekely routine is just washing with Z7, wipe down with Z6 and the grand finale with Z8 and ZCS.

Lee... do you own a detailing center?

musclehedz,
Superb gloss/shine as always :D

Bro Juan, if you're washing/detailing your ride on a weekly basis then you shouldn't have much to worry about the NXT wax. An application of the NXT wax should probably last you at least a month or two given that you wash/quick detail your ride frequently. Btw, that only applies if you're after protection but not the "show car shine". :)

Bro musclehedz, are the zaino products easy to use by hand application? I've been wanting to try out the zaino range for quite some time but i'm not too sure where to get them in K.L, i'm on meguiar's products atm.

No, I don't own a detailing center, although at the rate I am sending cars there, I might as well!

My friends and clients who are too busy to detail their cars send them to me, and I get it done at a detailing shop, but using my own supply of Meguiar's products. The shop charges for service. It is cheaper than getting it done commercially.

Zaino was already available in KL a couple of years back brought in by one of the workshops in Subang but not the full range. I've been using them for a very long time before they even landed in KL. I have been buying this stuff direct from Zaino Bros all this while. Zaino has always been the choice of showcars (apart from Pinnacle which some still choose) even before they had the ZFX Accelerator (which was a b1tch to do before this as you have to leave your car for days to finish up before you can even drive it).

Yes they are easy to use but there is a regime that you must follow and you will need to spend a lot of time doing it even with the ZFX Accelerator. It will be confusing and sound tedious in the very beginning. Once you get the hang of it, it will be a breeze. But bear one thing in mind, Zaino is not a magic bullet. In order to get the ultimate mirror finish, 3 pre-requisites you must have:-

1) The paint itself and the painter's skill (if its refinished)
2) Dark colored finishing
3) The paint surface itself is prepped properly (wet sand, dry sand, flattening, compounding-heavy to light, glazing-heavy to light)

The paint will be the one that gives out the shine and reflection so how perfect is the finale will depend 95% on this step, Zaino just gives it the edge. By applying Zaino no matter how many layers onto a surface which is dull and not prepped properly, the outcome will not be like mine even though it is black/dark colored.

Once you have Zaino'ed your car, maintainence is a breeze. All you have to do is wash down every week and just do a QD with either Z6 or Z8 whichever you choose. And no, you do not have to use the Z7 shampoo. You can use other shampoos as long as the shampoo does not strip of the sealant nor contain any waxes (most shampoos don't apart from dishwashing liquids). As for how water repellant it is, the only other product that can even come close to Zaino is Fuso Coat. The effect will stay there for a couple of months even under our harsh weather condition BUT you must QD with at least Z6 after every wash. Z6 will re-vitalize the coating. Washing is also a breeze, all it take for me to wipe down my car after washing is the Water Magnet and 3 mins max.

Good tips there, bro MH.

To get your results, as you put it, the foundation must be there.

Those who spend on Zaino, hoping to get results like yours will inevitably be disappointed. Unless of course, they spent RM1xk on the paint like you did! :D

I have not come across any other guy who has done up his e36 more than you have. Deep bow of respect.

Thanks for the info bro musclehedz. I guess i should just stick with the meguiar's range that i'm currently on. I'm quite happy with the results that i'm getting with the meguiar's products but just thought of giving zaino a try since i've read countless positive remarks about the products. Cheers!

Yes, Lee you are right, the strength of the building is determined by the structural foundation itself.

Those without the right foundation would not be disappointed but just the results will not be that great. My Proton is also refinished and Zaino'ed but the paint is not as flat as the BMW but it will still make heads turn :-

I have a suggestion for you : Go and get the Pro range of MG including the M21 sealant from Hypercoat in USJ. You will not be disappointed either with this ;) But, you will need to get the surface prepped properly. Head down to Auto Detailer and get Darren to do it for you. After that you can M21 all you want for maintenance. Darren's service is not expensive (about RM700-RM900 for Showcar Detailing if I'm not mistaken) and for his quality of his work, nobody can beat him right now especially removal of orange peel. No only our machine is an Ultimate Driving Machine but also should be an Ultimate Shine Machine :D

Thanks for the advice bro musclehedz, i'm leaning more towards the M26 for my black coloured ride, will get one to try it out once i've finished using my NXT wax. I did notice the orange peel on my ride too, will drop by at Darren's place pretty soon and see what he can do for my ride. Cheers! :)

New Supplies

Picked up the following yesterday.
