Ya, if you're on Zaino, layering is very addictive... Just can't wait to see how the next layer will enhance the shine... and then another .. and then another... LOL.

You friend must be using ZFX, else he would have needed to wait a long time before the next layer could go on top, and wouldn't be able to achieve 10 layers in 1 go...

Most folks I know, who were on Zaino, could not maintain the discpline of sticking exclusively to Zaino and will take short cuts over time to save effort, $$$ and time. See how long your friend can stick to the exclusive Zaino way.. hehe

As far as i know, he has been Zaino'ing all his cars since 6-7 years back uptodate when i knew him back than

This one I don't know (not expert in detailing). All i know is everytime i call him "hey, watcha doing? wanna go makan?", i get the answer "not free, detailing my car"...even in the middle of the night

Zaino is ultimate.. but too exclusive. Can't mix with normal car shampoos (i.e. you can't send your car outside to get washed anymore heh) with Zaino.

You mean you are still washing it outside with normal shampoo???

For a second there I thought I stumbled into the wrong thread...

I've taken an interest in self-detailing too, so this thread has been very useful and interesting. Just yesterday, I got myself a bottle of NXT Tech Wax for RM108-00 from Ace Hardware. I've been using mostly MG stuff cos it's easy to find but I don't think they're the bestest of the best. For eg. I used the AutoGlym EGP which E46F recommended and was very impressed by the long lasting wet, glossy look. After one EGP application, I've been able to maintain that glossy look with MG Cleaner Wax and Quik Detailer periodically. I decided to upgrade and enhance my efforts by getting better products, hence the NXT Tech Wax. Question is this, have anyone used a better wax and would care to recommend it here? I'm not quite into polishing cos my car's still only 3 months old. I take note of Zaino and would certainly love to try it. I've already heard that NXT Tech Wax ain't that long lasting which is a bane cos I don't always have time to wax the car and was hoping for an application that can spare me the time and effort of waxing too often.

In terms of cloth, I tend to use a 100% cotton polishing cloth to apply wax but have been encouraged to use foam applicators. I don't like the latter cos it looks more likely to scratch the paintwork. What would you guys recommend?

wax is good but tiring and difficult to apply. zaino is of liquid chemical composition. i don't know the molecular structure.

what color is your new bimmer? if it's light colored or silver then bother with zaino because it won't make much diff. if it's dark metallic color, the depth of shine is simply outstanding and you will be awestruck.

i'm trying to get a pic of zaino-ed car in the rain. after you park the wet car, you just can't help but keep looking at the car

Hi Seles, my new car's colour is Arctic which is a light colour. I'm quite happy with my present regime at the moment and hope that NXT Part 2 will prove to be better.

Sometimes if my schedule is way too tight, and I cannot tahan seeing the dirt bonding on the paint, I do take it to get my car washed and vacum at the Esso car wash place in Tmn Tun (near 1 U). Better than leaving the car dirty.

Another good wash which the washer takes a lot of pride in his washing and type of shampoo is the car wash guy at Stuttgart in Tmn Mayang. But I dont usually take my car there just for a wash.... Not nice la since the place is not a car wash place and its meant for customer cars being serviced there.

Well for me, waxing isn't really that difficult and tiring because i always put on thin and even coats. Two thin coats are best for complete and even protection. Let the wax dry for 15-20 minutes before buffing off with a piece of clean microfibre. Works easily for me each time i wax my ride tho, oh yeah, i polish+wax+wax my ride every single week, without fail. :D

Hi Juan, how often do you plan to wax your ride in let's say a year? Is the e92 your daily driver?

anyway, i'll see if i can get him to join onto this forum. He's quite passionate about his car similiar to you guys.

The shine and reflection is insane!! Still no one knows where we can get zaino in K.L? :(

Hi DA, I wax my car at least once a week and also use Quik Detailer between waxes. I guess I'll do EGP once a month but so far, I've done it once and the super gloss and shine has remained superbly intact. The E92 is my only car at the moment but the good thing is I don't drive it to work since I've a company car and driver for now. It's a bit unfortunate though that my condo's carpark in I-Zen Kiara II is an absolute nightmare cos workers use part of the basement carpark like a workshop for carpentry, storing building materials etc. So, you can leave your car there without using for 1-2 days and it's blanketed with dust and sometimes sand!! There are many far more exotic cars in my condo and I'm sure complains have been made but the management just don't take this seriously enough.

This thread has inspired me to wash and wax my car just now.

Light wash with one cap of Meguiar's Shampoo Plus, using the wash mitt and the requisite two bucket system.

Dried it using combination of Meguiar's microfiber and Meguiar's Natural Chamois (pricy, at RM80 per piece! But damn good).

As the car is still characteristically clean and smooth, no need to clay.

Applied the Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax by hand. Applied it to palm and fingers, and rubbed it onto the car surface evenly. The heat from the palm helped to spread the wax and bond it evenly onto the surface. Buffed it off using a microfiber.

Took me almost 4 hours in total to do the whole car.

Tired, but supremely satisfied.

wow, then we gotta see or even touch your car 1 day to feel the silky smooth surface :) wink wink~ Maybe I should do something to my car too (as in waxing and stuff like that) hehe

Golly, I had the same predicament. I left my office earlier than usual, and did a wash and wax job. I'm trying to finish my bottle of MG Cleaner Wax before I start on the new bottle of NXT. Took me 2 hours! I was late for subsequent appointments and pretty exhausted by the time the night was over!
