My 06' E60 started to make some noise. Door panel rubber maybe?

Mine not the door rubber... Mine actually something is loose inside behind the co-driver's door handle... Atleast thats what Ingress Auto Damansara said and they said next time come la we try find the noise for now lazy abit just do the RM2,350 standard service...

2. Syntium 3000 LL 5W-30 = 617.50
3. Filter= RM521.84
4. Spark plug service 11units= RM165
5. Service vehicle check = RM 150
6. Filter element=RM66.27
7. Brake fluid= RM48.17
8. brake fluid service= RM75
9. engine oil service=RM45
10.Microfilter service= RM30
11.Service standard scope=RM30

so, total labour=RM495 and total items=RM1817.42 excluding tax 6%

I think we all really cant stand the noise anymore, why not we go and check out with the tmn mayang workshop as recommended by our member, to see if the mechanic give us a good deal to solve our problem. any suggestion for the date?

I actually never noticed or got irritated with the sound until I read all your postings in the forum. Well, I attributed the sound to the leather seats until I reluctantly took out some spare rubber foam I had kept in my store room and decided to just try it out. Darn! it works la. No more sound after that. I think I paid RM10 for a long roll of those thin strip of black foam thinghi in Brothers way back. My car is silver so no issues when the door is open as most people don't even notice the 'additional foam' stuck to the door....

That kind of thick to install. Does it touches the door rubber? Mine is like normal clear salotape. not really visible. Unless some black dirt accumulated over time.

hmmm...not sure about the touching rubber part as I never bothered to check BUT I will later since you asked
It's thick but upon close inspection it actually molds the rubber once the door closes on it so its not damaging anything (I hope)....ekekek. Makes the door close with a better sounding 'thud' as well...
I tot it needed some 'essence' of a presence (in thickness) as I figured it was to fill the gap between whatever glass/window or metal 'space' that was making the sound, thus I used what I had in my disposal.

It is confirmed that sound comes from top of the doors panels (the carpet like). It is a design fault for this model and AB already has a solution for that long time ago. According to Jack who was working for AB before that he had fixed many of this.

He used a kind of tape bought from AB and stick around the top of the inner doors. Simple but a bit costly. Problem solved immediately.

hi bro, mine is UK spec 2003. My experience is, I also put some silicone grease and also magic tape to selected area. The noise will disappeared for a while & will come back after 2 or 3 days latter. But i discover something ( i don,t know other car lah) that the noise will come on hot weather (matahari panas terik lagi bising) and disappeared when your car in cold condition (in night time or raining day). Its might be kat German tu sejuk then diaorg design the rubber door for cold country...

Yes bro .. mostly can hear when the car is hot.. The hotter the sun , the louder the sound is . When its raining and when you wash the car , it will dissapear for a while. That clearly indicates that , ribber to metal noise .

Yet to settle my car noise.

i applied some rubber/leather/upholstery treatment and the noise disappeared. Rubber becomes hard when you dont treat them. If it is beyond treatment then it is too late to apply anything
