My 06' E60 started to make some noise. Door panel rubber maybe?

my car got this noise too. my mechanic try put some liquid(i dont know what is that) on door seal and dont have any sound after that..

Hi all, I did "trial and error" finally I found that the cheapo silicon spray solved the problem. Just spray the RM12 silicon spray to the door seal (the thin carpeted part at the top of the door panel) and walla...it is gone totally, now my car is safe and sound

Hi Dr Sham, ya i did mine also but sometimes it works (when it is raining) when it is hot in the afternoon, the sound come back again, frankly speaking i give it up already..the root cause is actually the carpeted part where the window compress too hard on it.

i reckon it could be the engine bracket. try replacing the bracket. im sure it will be fine after that

Who said that? My friend fixed the problem one and for all he applied magic tape to the door panel where the rubber touches the door and Wah Lah.. Problem solved :top: the place is ard taman mayang

I bought my 06 japan specs 525i m sport 3+ months back and did encounter the same. Luckily my car comes with 3 months warranty, sent in for rectification and did the same as thule....a thin white tape along the the lining where the rubber touches the door. It's been nearly 2 month now and it works. The only catch is that u will notice a clear white tape when u open the door..bt luckily mind is alpine white..not so noticable. Not sure though for other colors car and knowing now that it cost 400 to 500...i m glad i did it for free under warranty.

But i still dont't really understand such thin tapes which runs around the body opening where the doors rubber seal meets .....i guess the most would be around 20 + feet long and it cost that much as mentioned ( rm 20 ++ per foot run )..., not sure mind is 3m or not but it works in the most simple way.:smokin:

Correct me if i m wrong...i remember browsing through the manual care care section..it states that only use clear water in damp cloth to wipe all rubber seal linings etc...it does not encourage any solvent, oil base, luricants etc coz this will accelerate wear tear n cracks on rubber. Considering the cost of getting those rubber change...i prefered the simple tape method.....though it's funny to see the tapes lining bt it sure safe n simple. After 2 over mths..so far so good..hope it will last for sometime before any replacement on the tapes is needed.

You are absoltely correct. I was trying to pin point where the hack of the sound thus tried on W4D. I will try to apply one type of rubber care solution but I cant recall its name rite now. I bought it before and which is to protect and prolong wiper life. I remember its contains can soften rubber and i think that should b fine to apply to the door seal.

The last time i wwne tback , i lower down all four window ( avoid pressure to the upper frame panel ) and noise is gone . But i just dont want to spoil the power window motor by playing with it now and then. sumore can forget to tight it back , hujan and then will get wet. looking for trouble again . looking for permanent solution .

my organic way to get rid of that noise. Use white candle to rub along the door panel(carpet type). no more noise until now...

May I know what kind of sound you guys experiencing? Also the E60 model you guys own ie CKD or CBU, Uk or Japs spec, model & so on. Surprisingly all my cars no such noise after all the TLC.

Also did u guys notice when going up a ram like those Mid Valley parking, there will be some 'placticky' sound twisting, due to long length of the car?
