Well, in that case, no change needs to be made to the itinerary. I think that's a feasible window for us to shoot for. The early birds can chill at the resthouse. BTW, I've got one of those Motorola walkies, very useful, anyone else have one?

OSwanker, bring your Kukubura and teach these young punks with their Mini Coopersss a lesson or two.. :D :nyehehe: :nyehehe:

No aircond, no radio/CD, and the Mini's definitely have better handling and braking.

Down the hill, I think the car will literally fly - fly off the road that is and down The Gap!

Date : Sat, 30 July 2005

Confirmed:

1. bmFIVE
2. alvin
3. juan powerblow
4. Detonics & A friend.
5. The Necessary (can someone bring me a young, good looking and most importantly, willing, "friend"?)

8. Franklin
9. Zoggee (?)
10.OSF (?)
11. Marco(?)

There may one or two from Mini2 Forum who will join.

Proposed Itinerary:

Alvin proposed that we take the route up via Bentong and down via Kuala Kubu Baru. Any objection?

7.30 Meet at Centre Point, BU (Breakfast?)
8.30 Depart from BU
10.00 Arrive at GAP (?)
10.30 Arrive at Fraser Hill
12.30 Lunch at Smokehouse
2.30 Depart from Fraser Hill

This only my suggestion, and I don't have experience in organising convoy. Good advise is very much approciated. Who'll the the leader & sweeper?

Lets race each other to the top... :D

Just kidding.. I think the fastest car should be at the tail end and the slowest car should be in front.. And no overtaking the convoy car in front of you is allowed. Just my suggestion.

The Nec

I remember there's a rest house(?) at the GAP that serve great coffee, so we can take a break there, have photo shoots before making our way up.

I'll check on the timing of traffic flow anyway.

So we got a sweeper, alvin, can you be be leader?
Yes.. theere is a rest house at the gap that used to serve great coffee and food. Most of the people can't finish their food during the last mini trip to the Gap.. very disappointing :( . It runs by a different management now....

Wouldn't the fastest car be yours, Chester??? So you'll be last.

I don't want to be leading cause I don't want to be the first to get pulled over so anyone else can lead.

As for overtaking the convoy car in front, I don't see why not.

I would also like to suggest that we get an opportunity to try a few highway pulls with certain cars for a basis of comparison.
i.e. from 100 to 180 km/h
Will there be any 325i coming along? I would like to compare my Z4 against those cars to see if its any quicker.

Alvin, if you're bringing your Mini, maybe we can do some highway runs since both our cars are equal in HP.

Hey,

may I suggest a change in the meeting up venue? Instead of BU, how about we meet up the the "Restorant Jejantas" (you know, that overhead bridge rest stop thing) at (I think) Sungai Buloh?

Parking and food at BU ain't exactly great, y'know.

As for this convoy thing, may I also suggest that those who want to be part of one, be part of one, and those who just wanna hoon around, hoon around. No hard and fast rules please, it's meant to be a Sunday drive, not an exercise in boredom and poseuring.

But as is likely, I will be slowest, hence I'll be the "sweeper".

Guys

Restoran Jejantas is a good idea for meeting place, plenty of car park & reasonable selection of food there.

Adrian called me & mentioned that the route via Bentong-Raub may not be a good idea due to bad road condition. In view of the fact that most cars are fitted with huge rims, got to be careful!

There was a suggestion that we can take NS Highway to Tanjung Malim & U-turn back to KKB, then head towards the GAP. Then there'll be a combination of high speed & winding road drive. Any more suggestions?

Toyota ar?? Hmmmmmm.................... need to check with bmfive.
Would be better if its like german make but then again this is not an official event.

bmfive

I was thnking that we just drive up to the gap rather then all the way up. Nothing much at the top plus the road from the gap up is really very narrow so not much fun in that. Then we can try to have lunch at the rest house with the new owners.

Hi CSI KL

Do any of our members know you, since you're very new (this's your first post), may be you can join us in our regular TTs for some familiarisation? I don't mean to be rude, just cautious, hope you understand.

Alvin

Fine with me but when i said its narrow means its really narrow. it's like just nice for 1 car width. Can't really do any high speed conners plus cant show anything cause only 1 car at a time. Overtaking will need to be done over the cliff! ha h ah ah ha ha ha h ah :D

Not VCD lar! Make me look like a VCD seller oni. Cheh! :D

Anytime oso can. Copied 1 for u liao. It includes the last drive to the gap. Nice! Watch it with some external speakers. Sure shiok wan.
