I would like to throw caution to all Boxster chasing aspirants here that the said Boxster S has only just covered 2,000km in its run-in program. Adrian is pretty religious about this, and if keeping up with a car which is limited to half its rev range is great, imagine when the horses have been let loose!

If I were to tell you that the new Boxster S laps Nurburgring at the same time as the previous Lamborghini Diablo, you'll have a fair feel of what its capable of. :D

:
I know that this will come........... :D :D :D Yes, esterix is right, the Boxster S is being run in & Adrian is a very cautious driver! :p

Now if Alvin does succumb to the BBR racun and opt for the 300hp conversion, then that'll be something else! Remember Alvin, the BBR badge that's sitting in my drawer awaits your call :yahoo:
:D no doubt the boxster s with its 280bhp is a fast car.. no one is denying that.but for a fraction of what the boxster cost, the MCS is still a good fun car to have.
i think the new Cayman will be faster round the 'ring..don't like the look though.the boxster looks much nicer in comparison..

What is the power to weight ratio ar?
Handling wise quite similar i believe. But can mod the mini better with coilovers to hv a vast improvement. Of course the Porsche can also but most of the owners dun mod le except for a few of them.
Those fellas that mod their porsche, you tell them meet at toll 7am & you leave at 630 first quietly! ha ha h ah ha h ah Only got chance. :D

Let's not develop this thread into MCS is faster or better than Boxster S, because it's not. The emphasis is on the FUN factor, I had load of fun & so did Adrian in his Boxster S I believe. That was probably the first time he had pushed the car hard, clearly he's enjoyed it. Adrian was incredibily fast in the straight. THE Boxster S clearly has huge advantage in top end, if the straight road to Ulu Yam was any longer, it would have disppeared into distance.

I doubt that the MCS will come close to it in a race track, where there're long straights & fast corners. My target before the drive was just to stay close, which I've achieved. I don't think I can actually overtake it, not with the ernomous torque that the Boxster S has in reserve. I was clearly pushing the MCS to it's limit to stay close whereas the Boxster S still has plenty in reserve I believe.

The MCS is an incredibily forgiving car, it can be pushed to it's limit easily without major understeering, unlike most FWD cars. That's why it makes an ordinary driver like me looks GOOD. :D

bm5,

we all know that you are an ordinary driver( but a damn good karter ), just driving the Mini makes you extra-ordinary.....wait till you put in more mods.....gonna make you super extra ordinary.....!!!!

guess it will make every ordinary person that drives one extra-ordinary, exception for one particular person that makes him more a like a cartoon.....**cabutzz**

ah crap, we just missed u guys! IA went up to ulu yam on 31/7 at 730am with 20+ cars. some of the guys tagged a porsche and F360 on the way back on karak, tho. :D

seriously, i have no doubts that a MCS can easily keep up with a Boxster S. for one thing, the MCS is a lot less hairy to drive, and unless the Boxster driver knows his way round an RR car, the car will be twitchy and the driver will hold back.

i have a vid of me glued to the rear of a Carrera S going up ulu yam as well. no way my 156 is faster on the straights, but in the corners it just pulls up and sticks to the porsche. :)

I love the MCS...

but I wouldn't get one cos the supercharger whine sucks big time... hence, the BBR turbo conversion would solve the problem nicely, I think!

(Do i detect a certain note of bravado in almost every Alfa related post on this forum?)

....but he still lost to taiko BM5's "250hp" MCS at Sepang...he he, all in good fun okie!
