spend the chrismas holiday to read through the manual....didn't realized how complicated this car until i go thru it today...almost everything on this car is adjustable through the idrive!

haven't got a chance to take a pic of my car...afterall its a bit dusty/dirty after the rain....will take some pix after i send my car for detailed next week.

agree...one of the most important point that i realized when i read the manual is the running in requirement

2000km - do not rev more than 4500rpm or exceed 160km/h speed.

when i took delivery of the car, i asked the SA if this car requires any specific TLC while running in but she said nope...just drive it!!!

thank god max speed i drive b4 i realized there is a running in limit speed was 130km/h and max rev was 3000rpm!!!

glock_8, another thing the SA's will tell you is that it's not necessary to change your run-in oil, to just change oil when the OBC tells you. But their own SCs will tell you that it's good to change it! It'll cost you about RM650 to change it as it's not covered by BSRI, but what's RM650 compared to the price you're paying for the car? Just remember to tell them not to supply you the windshield washer fliud - that's very expensive soap water. ;)

thanx schwepps for the heads up...out of curiosity...how much is that winshield washer? reason being, when i used it the other day..it really cleaned up the windscreen and evaporate almost instantly...kinda addictive hehehe

Yup bro schwepps is rite ... change d engine oil once reached 2000km break-in mileage cos there is a lot of metal shavings and impurities inside and you dont want that re-circulating inside your engine :D

glock_8, sorry misinformation - just checked the bill, it wasn't much, RM11 only. The total was RM620 all in. I did the change at my cost at 2000km+ and even the branch manager said "Good!"

Some pictures of my ride

As promised, here are couple of pic of my ride...hihi

Just completed some 800km journey to Penang over the weekend to see how the car hold up....it was a wonderful experience...the suspension set up is stiff but still tolerable. My wife and kid didn;t complain...
loved the 50/50 balance of the car when i took corners around the ferringhi road.

The navigation is not up to date - altho i get the 2008 version. I end up using the street sign :stupid:

however there is a minor squeky/whining sound when i turn the steering....it kinda disturbing (altho not that obvious) since i paid top rm to have this....so will get the SA check on this tomorrow while i;m having the car send for polish (complimentary from sapura) hihi.

steering whinning sound ? i think a member on the board is having this sound, looks like the steering column issue..

Nice car! I think the squeky sound is just minor issue which needs some lubrication. Dun worry. Enjoy the car to the max!

You are right, it sound like a rubber rubbing against each other and slowly to go away as drive the car more often now....

thanx all for the compliment....

on another topic, i visited VAGMY forum, and read on one thread about A4 vs E90 ...i reckon this topic has been goin on since the first a4 till now...
not being bias to either car, i am quite amused to learn how biased they're saying the a4 b8 1.8 handles better that the e90 325 sport...having tested the a4 more than 3 times before and now owning a 325 sport...i can confidently say they're wrong!

glock_8: I know im not a strong supporter of the E90's in light of the new B8 A4's and the new C-Class but look at it this way, there is only one way to find out.

Sepang Open Track Days! :)

I dont have a B8 but ill gladly be a guinea pig for this experiment with the B7 A4 2.0t. :)

Congrats on your new purchase. Its a romantic affair, one man's journey with his BMW. I hope you're having a great time. ;)

How to determine which car is better than the other when the driver skill is also different...u are definitely a better driver since having vase experience with all sort of cars in your garage...

i have test driven the B7 2.0 T quattro back to back with the B8 1.8T and its definitely different car...it handles better and has more grunt at the speed above 140km/h as compare to B8 1.8T FF. If you test the B8, at the glenmarrie going to subang airport, there is a corner where you can feel the B8 understeer...very badly...the same corner with B7 quattro show different result.

Switching from jdm performance car this is the best compromise continental car that i can afford...i just wish i have more money for the M3 sedan.....Thanx
