Ahhhhh I get a lot of this. Seriously, it's a real pain cos nearly every time I'm out, there's someone inches from my rear bumper.

And it's usually some bule, black, red or white BMW with VIP tint, aftermarket wheels, bodykit and number plate badge. That would probably include half of you fellas here haha. And knowing that M-badged cars far outweigh M-engined cars on the road here, I'd think my 400+ hp would be useful enough to outrun most (but obviously not a 605hp monster )

Have also been chased by a Sirocco, an enthusiastic old uncle in a ML, various Mercs and Audis and Golf Gtis. Funnily: wajalutions and such, and JDM type performance cars never give chase; they are almost gracious in the way they let me through. Worst offenders are Ferraris. Several times, I have been rudely and dangerously overtaken by them, with them flying by at ridiculous speeds.

Personally, though, while enthusiasts will always be enthusiasts and that's fine, but most of the roads here don't really favour this kind of behaviour, and when you factor in traffic and motorcycles and all...

i juz want to share what happen to me on 13/6/10
- like that 350z pushing a Myvi, but i'm not pushing, juz follow a white Myvi with 'J' plate, in a safe distance (+/- 120-130km/j) at right lane. Once in a while, i gave signal that i want to overtake but he doesn't respond. Maybe he thought his Myvi faster than my e36. After a while, he seem changing to the middle lane, but he stopped in the between. So i thought he giving me chance to overtake. So, i ramp but when i'm near to him, suddenly he change lane. As a reflect, i turn to right to avoid him and unfortunately hit the guardrail and then lost control and my lovely e36 hit the left guardrail.. huhuhu... If that Myvi know about his car and think about other people maybe my car still in good shape.. Thank God i in BMW, if i in Myvi, maybe i'm no more here and writing this post..

Had an experience with a white Myvi as well..this happened on the KL-Seremban highway on 13/06 at around 8.30pm.Crazy Myvi driver,looks like a young lady driving or a jambu long-haired young man la..can't tell.She was weaving from the right-most lane to the emergency lane like some lunatic,I was merely minding my own,keeping to the right-most lane.
Our path crossed a few times and her antics got me pretty pissed..so I just tailed her,keeping on the right lane.A few times,when I got ahead,she came within inches of my rear bumper,tailing me.Couldn't get away cuz traffic was pretty thick and I refused to zigzag like the lunatic that she was..
In the end,when the road cleared,I caught up with her..at 160+kph,she refused to give way,hogging the fastlane.Since the road was clear,I overtook her on the left and sped off..wasn't really interested in playing with a lunatic.

buragas5,sorry to hear about ur car,luckily no one was hurt.I would've gave chase to the idiot who drove the white Myvi make him pay.Bring the matter to the police.

It quite normal for vios, myvi, city, waja, etc ( those category of car, if you know what i meant ) to try to prove that there are as fast as a bimmer, esp those who mod their car with big body kits. I call that I.C., which I normally just let them go, no point spoiling your day with this kind. I only encounter such tailing when I change to my current ride.

If you drive a different car, i.e. not a bimmer, most probably they will not tail you.

it's the same whether u r driving a beemer, merc or even JDM cars... if you don't "song" you.. especially when you overtake them, they will definitely tailgate you
last weekend, I was driving back to Pahang from KL, a Viva (read... VIVA!!!!) tailgated me from Genting Sempah rest area. I overtook him on the way up hill before the tunnel. Of course being on highway, the driver couldn't keep up with me. That was, until I exited Karak Highway & turned into Bentong-Raub road. This bugger drove like he was Karamjit Singh... overtaking cars even though with cars coming from the opposite direction. I just let him overtook me and he disappeared after a while. No point risking my family's safety just to get even with the Viva right??

Sorry to hear about your ride..Have you got it restored already?? Sometimes, its just best to slow down a while, let the lunatics go ahead..it helps to loose the anxiety n frustration at the point of time.
after about 5 minutes, u take off again, ull notice most of the time that lunatic has also slowed down to the middle lane or no where to be seen..In our case, we dont have to prove a point, the brand speaks for itself already..

Interesting thread. Seems many here have a story to tell about white Myvis... Hmm, surprisingly the Myvi is pretty solid at high speeds. Anyways, I do admit that it's best to not let rage take over, but sometimes, I get too incensed when a car overtakes me rudely. If really travelling too fast, I'd let him pass, but if one roads like the Fed Highway, and some young upstart comes homing in on my car's backside, zigzagging in and out, I'd most probably slow down and make life difficult for that bugger.

Haha. True also. I admit not build quality [like the plastic bumpers], but the way the car feels quite planted at speeds. Always seeing them zigzagging in and out of traffic like nobody's business.

Red light from behind, as in rear fogs? Your's must be darn bright! Haha. Few occasions I've drove behind E39s with rear fogs on, and by jolly, they're bright! Couldn't really see their number plates from a distance too.

It seems those on the E30,32,34s are rather dim in comparison?

Anyways, I agree with you with regards to road ethics. I extremely loathe tailgaters.

If you're on the fast lane on a highway and there's someone behind you...Road Ethics = Give Way...regardless of what car ur driving.

There are also those who are just oblivious.There are also those who just couldn't care less..I've seen this type many many times.They dont care if there's a long line of cars behind them,they just wan't to stay on the fast lane for some reason.Infuriating! Come rain or shine..they keep to the fast lane no matter what u do.
