guys..just received my e36 yesterday....hope this is a right choice...few thing i noticed and need some help based on forumers experienced n knowledge, forgive me if this can consider stupid questions..hehe :1) what's the diff between S, E & M beside my gear?2) is there any problem if i remove the oBC ? coz thinking of having DVD double din in the car3) my car...after stopped and wanna start journey..after the RPM touch '2" then it change gear...is that normal? quite long woo...:stupid:4) after switch off the ignition..take out the key...i still heard something like at center area...radio...some sort like zzzzzz but not so loud...
help me with this

Anyway, here goes:-
1) what's the diff between S, E & M beside my gear?
S=Sport Mode. When in this mode the gear changing is much later and give you better acceleration
E=Economy Mode. This mode is the default mode whenever you start your engine. It gives the best fuel economy for normal driving.
M=Manual Mode. This mode is seldom used but useful when climbing or going down hill. or you are driving in the snow!!
2) is there any problem if i remove the oBC ? coz thinking of having DVD double din in the car.
Should not be a problem but you loose all the information like average mileage, fuel economy, etc

2000 rpm is normal for gear changing. Depends on how step the accelerator, the gearbox will respond to your driving habit. it adaptive and sometime it will get very lazy when you drive like a aunty.
4) after switch off the ignition..take out the key...i still heard something like at center area...radio...some sort like zzzzzz but not so loud...
That sound id the air vane closing in the aircon. You should also hear it when you start the car.

On your question 2, you cannot installed 2 Din in the OBC location as the depth is too short for any DVD player.
Unless you are going for CarPC, which is just the screen and you hide your player some-where else.
If that is the case, you can move your OBC to where your original player is.
