This is something i can't bear to laugh off. Hence thats why i post it.There is this VW Sirocco White, WFL18 or something, with local made exhaust i guess(sound sucked so bad...)followed me all the way at sprint all the way to taman megah, i was heading towards tropicana, so he went away before the flyover, and i gave him a thumbs down. HAHA.I was cruising hapilly, enjoying musics, and this f***ker came and tailgate me and thinks his vw is so fast .. C'mon man, this is a 650hp m5, 30% throttle probably killed him.The thing is , why with all those vw s***ers, sorry if you own one and you are not a su****er, they keep on tailgating everyone and thinks their chipped vw is so fast!!!

He's probably a newbie to the Automotive Industry.......he may be wondering what is an M5?????

...and also there are lots of "dressed-up M3 and M5" around town.....so he thought he gave it a try and unfortunately he encountered a genuine M5!!:rock:

///M rules :wink:
young boy without knowledge about the M badge means.....
don't be so fierce david, later he can't get over himself n drive his car into the sea and u just kill a young ego boy without knowing. or maybe he drive straight to AB to change car hehe......

Maybe they just got lonely because flying alone is pretty bored, its probably in invitation to rempit along and it seems u accepted the invitation? Otherwise, they'll just move along if u ignore them.

I was returning from KLIA last evening shortly before night fall, traffic was pretty heavy due to the returning holiday crowd. Saw a white 350z pushing a Myvi who refuse to let go, let them over take and I followed lor. Then come along a carbon hood Type-R, amazingly the stock standard in look Myvi managed to keep up but he uses a lot of emergency lane. Everyone was good sport as before exit, turn indicator was signaled, everyone gets a wave. I guess means thank you kua. Type-R exit Shah Alam, 350z exit Subang and I was last, PJ. Meanwhile, the Myvi was very very far behind, dunno exit where also.. :p

A lot of fake M5s around nowadays. Probably that's why he tried his luck.

650bhp...emmm unless david's m5 is supercharged or turbocharged or stroke up to 6.5l and above, to get an increase of 140+ bhp on an NA is somewhat challenging or impossible?

tell us more David...

Exactly. But the pics he posted of the engine bay shows no signs of FI. On such a highly tuned car I would say getting that much power NA is pretty much impossible.
Wondering where the 650hp figure came from

The current benchmark for NA engine (mass production) is still the Honda S2k with 120bhp/liter and due to volumetric efficiency, the pumping losses is higher with bigger engine capacity, translated into layman's term, it will be harder to achieve 120bhp/liter with bigger capacity engines.

Cheers

so if indeed david's car is NA and churning out 650bhp at same displacement then the bhp/litre would be 130bhp/liter....wow...

just curious if volumetric efficiency has also got to do with the engine configuration i.e. inline, v or boxer....with gravity in play, i wonder if boxer shud fair better?

i tot the benchmark is rotary engine, very2 fluid

if so, probably idling at 2000rpm.

Btw its 605 engine crank hp, stock is 513 from this dyno. its basically a full rpi car and the only part i dint use is the rear muffler, too noisy. Typo on the 650, am using phone to post in forum.

Had a nice run with a mk6 Golf GTi the other day,on the way down to KLIA.I was cruising at my normal speed, chatting with the wife and minding my own on the highway. The Golf was on the fast lane doing about 150kph which was 'a little' lower than the speed I was doing.Pretty quick car,he wouldn't give way when I was trying to pass so I just followed behind at a safe distance.By the way he was going,I think he gave it his all, gunning it in every gear.I just followed, probably using 1/2 to 3/4 throttle.
In the end tho,he just gave up as I was matching his speed, whatever he tried. He gave way, moving to the middle lane..as I passed,I gave a smile and a wave which was returned.Nice..
All of us are enthusiasts..do be nice.I don't berate other owners and their cars for 'trying' or having a bit of a friendly tussle.I think VWs are nice cars,of course u wouldn't expect a Golf or a Scirocco to beat an ///M car.

VE is used to describe the amount of fuel/air in the cylinder in relation to regular atmospheric air. If the cylinder is filled with fuel/air at atmospheric pressure, then the engine is said to have 100% volumetric efficiency. Most NA engines are operating at 70-80% efficiency. To increase it further, force induction is the way to go :)
In actual fact, an engine is just like air pump, drawing air in (with fuel injected and mixed) and then expunging the by products and the cycle repeats.

I do not think Boxer engines will have higher VE than normal inline or V configuration engines. It has more to do with the intake manifold design (that's why ///M cars have individual throttle bodies!), given a particular engine capacity.

Yeah rotary engine has higher bhp/liter, and similarly 2 stroke engines as well, like those ROTAX used in go karting. If we include bikes, the S1000RR is producing 193bhp/liter!!:rock:
